Quick update across the causeway.... A&E bouquet of channels ended their exclusivity on Starhub and all 5 chs, History HD, H2 HD, Lifetime HD, CI HD and fyi HD all launched today.

Seems like fyi HD will be the so called replacement for Life Inspired ch.

There will also free Deepavali preview chs on Starhub (Indian chs) and Singtel (majority chs).

Scripps (HGTV, Food network), BBC bouquet (BBC World Need, BBC Earth etc.), HBO bouquet, RTL-CBS bouquet .... Chinese ones are the TVB bouquet of chs.

Although the authorities mandate that "Exclusive chs" needs to be make available for cross-carriage to another operator, no surprise Starhub ensures that the deals are not indicated as "Exclusive" per se, it's a 'under the table' between the content providers and cable operator (Starhub).

On-air, Starhub uses the wordings, "Only on Starhub". 😂

I read fr the previous MDA regulatory website that exclusive chs needs to be cross carried on the competitor platform and that all back-end, admin, equipment charges has to be paid by the operator who signed the exclusive chs.

So starhub is at the losing end if their channels needs to be cross carried on Singtel. Hence the harsh harsh 'only on starhub'.

Cost cutting measures by Starhub, dropping the below channels of late: ZooMoo, Discovey Kids, Eve and DMAX.... Or lowly rated channels per their excuse.

Eve and DMAX were still SD after Singtel started offering the Discovery bouquet of chs all in HD. Discovery Kids is still SD on Singtel as it was offered as a standalone channel 2 yrs ago.

Yes, I think toddlers have other free come that is available on the internet.

DMAX not popular as not many ppl keen on those programs ... U know cars are so expensive over here..... And most of us stay in public housing, no "space" to really experiment with DIY stuff, LOL

Bye bye GO Shop on Starhub, channel endsonDec. 29. Short lived channel.... Must be bleeding a lot for astro hence they end it prematurely. Ppl here not keen on their products, oh well.

The money paid to the TV talents, Ops ppl doing the graphics exceeds the earnings they were expecting. Miscalculation on their part.... SG is too tiny a country, ppl here rather buy online or just travel to the nearest mall to get the stuff

Starhub only ran the crawler on the channel, they did not inform subscribers thru letter or press release, since the GO shop is a free to view channel.

In other news, with the free preview of the 5 A&E chs ending soon end of this month, History HD, H2 HD, Crime + Investigation HD, FYI HD and Lifetime HD, Singtel is only adding FYI HD (plus catch up On Demand) and Lifetime HD (plus catch up On Demand) to the Basic Family Starter pack for free.

History HD, H2 and CI HD are nowhere found in the Dec. Brochure .... Looks like this 3 chs will be bundled as a separate pack to be charge separately after the free preview ends this month.

Yes, the indo chs are direct fr the source, but all are in SD. As for astro world, it's just the name of the catch-up channel, showcasing selected progs of prima and ria

Just an update, another round of dropping chs to end the year from Starhub, cost cutting again. truTV, CNN Headline News (no pix attached) and TCM. Happy New Year to all in advance. :-)

Yup, Starhub downgrade their package tier from the content providers, just like how their subscribers are downgrading the TV package, LOL

Yup, NG Wild has no subts here too on both Singtel n Starhub.. Believe with the 4 audio language tracks, they totally do away with subts to cut cost.
Btw, pic here shows both Media Prima n astro joining forces to lure customers to subscribe to their programs. Tonton is available on the go, known as CAST app, for the moment.

Some late updates, tonton preview CH (on demand) added on Singtel TV, seems like selected eps, usually ep 1 are available for preview, to get subscribers hooked, so that they would subscribe.

Also Eleven Sports launches 9 chs of Olympics programming.
