Hehe... that's why I said "do remember that we can together EASILY force Assteruk to change by deciding to act with MASS termination"... but I definitely do NOT expect this to happen when I said "unfortunately, many chose NOT to do it.". Monopoly on premium content is just one big factor why people refuse to stop BUT its not the only reason because many people have various different reasons.
Actually there is an alternative way to make a big impact... no need termination, ALL those subscribers who no longer are bound by contract can just request temporary suspension for 1 or 2 months so this is already enough to do some damage to assteruk... even if not enough damage, at least a big slap and show to assteruk not to "play play" with subscribers ! Jangan main-main dengan pelanggan loh. BUT... people will DIE, cannot live without watching assteruk even for 1 to 2 months !! Example... there will be people who will shout... "my parents will kill me" if they missed any episodes of TVB AOD !! So... its just a waste of time to suggest "temporary suspension"... people won't cooperate together, definitely won't do it loh.
So... NOPE... nothing will work... life goes on and monopoly will still carry on, hehe. The situation will continue to deteriorate as our RM continues to fall... premium content cost skyrocket up and then assteruk pushes out even more ads, more repeats, less good content, etc. Even our electricity bill will no longer have any subsidy later.
Just look at our terrestrial TV broadcasts... still in analog ! Always talk talk talk that Terrestrial Digital broadcasts will be available nationwide very soon... next year, three years, six years but who knows when it will actually happen nationwide? Yes, test broadcasts in KL and some other places... that's it. Pasang aerial di bumbung... adjust haluan dan dapat digital HD Channel with 5.1 surround audio in... mmm... Bentong, Pahang? No... don't hope it will happen there soon. Even many TVs sold in Malaysia still don't have built-in Digital Tuner !!
Assteruk IPTV, Netflix or iFlix? Masih banyak tempat belum ada UniFi loh ! Many areas with Streamyx (1mb, 2mb, 4mb, 8mb)... is just NOT fast enough to get enough video bitrate to get at least 70% of the HD quality that people with UniFi (30mb, 50mb, 100mb) enjoys ! I tested Netflix HD video quality in my hometown with streamyx 8mb speed only... really cannot compare with my place in KL using UniFi 30mb speed. Yes, in HD but video bitrate drops a lot with low internet speed so the quality drops too ! Just like when I watched a Netflix 4K movie using streamyx... betul betul teruk kualiti, tak sampai HD kualiti pun. Aah, kawan saya cakap UniFi dah sampai di Mentakab, Pahang... baru tahun ni ada tapi tak cukup slot, oleh itu TM hanya bagi UniFi Business Package dengan harga mahal... mana boleh residen rumah dapatkannya? Not many places nationwide got UniFi BUT even those towns that is lucky enough to get... yet not open for everyone, LOL ! LOL ! Some towns with Streamyx can't even reach 8mb speed !!! That's also one of the reason why Assteruk is still the nationwide KING !
Guess we all know that Unifi will be atleast 60% nationwide in 2100 or 2200. Like that my great great children will got to access the service..
Astro all wanna join. From Satellite TV to IPTV to Streaming On-The-Go. Even i feel that they also wanna start their own Astro Fibre package(maybe cooperate with Maxis fibre network). Even HyppTV cannot compete with Astro. Me guess that HyppTV will not use Satellite TV infrastructure to fight with Astro. If they make it to satellite platform. Then, big news come that Astro will have new challenge.
But, TM not so stupid to waste money to rent satellite transponder. Kita ada Measat pun tak guna juga kalau nak cekik darah pelanggan je. TM tahu yang ianya hanya membazirkan duit saja untuk offer HyppTV punya pakej guna platform satelit. TM juga dari awal sudah rancang, yang hanya tempat ramai "interest" untuk Unifi servis saja yang akan diberi servis Unifi. Di kawasan sepupu saya, ramai yang tak ambil pakej Unifi kerana ianya terlalu mahal. Harga dahla bermula dari RM1++. Ingat semua orang kaya ke nak langgan setiap bulan.
Sepatutnya, dari awal lagi TM patut bagi pakej Unifi murah pada harga RM89 sebulan. Dan tidak bundle sekali dengan HyppTV. Pakej ini sepatutnya dinamakan sebagai "UniFi Basic". Kelajuan bermula dari 5Mbps download & upload. Dengan harga yang berpatutan. Lagi ramai pelanggan yang akan melanggan pakej ini. Juga dengan ini TM dapat meningkat prestasi kewangan dengan harga yang murah & berbaloi untuk dilanggan.
TM juga tahu yang kalau mereka offer harga macam ni. Ramai yang takkan langgan pakej Advance & Pro yang harga bermula dari RM200 & RM300. Jadi revenue & profits drop. Kerana orang Malaysia tidak suka untuk membeli dengan harga yang mahal hanya untuk akses internet dirumah. Dari bayar RM179 untuk Unifi 30Mbps. Baik langgan pakej Unifi Basic 80 atau Unifi Lite 99. Dengan harga bawah RM100. Lagi berbaloi. Di rumah, biasanya kita hanya stream Youtube, FB dll. Pada yang memerlukan kelajuan yang lebih tinggi. Mereka boleh langgan Pro plan.
Tapi yelahkan. Keluarga biasa tidak perlukan kelajuan internet sehingga 30Mbps keatas. Kerana 10Mbps sudah cukup untuk satu keluarga guna. Tapi pakej Unifi tiada pilihan untuk harga ini. Jadi dengan relanya kami membayar pakej Advance. Yang harganya dekat RM200.
Kalau nak diikutkan. Unifi Lite tu sepatutnya bermula dari harga RM99/bulan. Tanpa pakej HyppTV. Lagi ramai yang langgan. Lagi banyak "profits" turun..

So the support was so good that the chat bar which blocked the video on screen was not at all an issue to some customers! I heard lately that it finally had to be removed cos of some deals which turned sour at astro's end.Customers are to be blamed,they have the power to shut it down!
