Usually and by generally, whenever your set-top-box is being replaced by any reason, either by upgrade or replaced due to faulty including the damage caused by lightning strike, or whatsoever, Astro don't care and they will restart your contract as follows:

HD set-top-box: 12 months
PVR set-top-box: 24 months

Base on my point of view, well.... As usual, Astro's main priority is money.

Will the Astro customers (parents) be interested to subscribe to HD service if Astro provide cartoon channels in HD? Do you think Astro will earn more profit/revenue/money by doing so?

Astro's main focus is to make customer tend to spend more money on Astro by introducing new and attractive channels (any kind of channel) and also, the recent channel upgrade of Lifetime Channel (709) from SD to HD is also one of the tactic made by Astro to somehow force the existing loyal Lifetime Channel viewers to subscribe to HD service, or watch it on Astro on the Go as an alternative.

By mobile data, yes. By FTTH, nope...they already have 2Gbps internet. Which is good enough to ditch Astro if it's available here.

I think 90% of SG already have fibre service. And their prepaid & postpaid no good.
Singtel fibre offer minimum 500Mbps speed. Meanwhile here TIME 100Mbps.
Singtel maximum 10Gbps. TIME 500Mbps. Not so much different. 100Mbps is good enough nowaday. Even for me 5Mbps here like very rare if you stay in congest mobile area.

If 2Gbps speed FTTH here. Not most malaysia nationwide coverage will or can subscribe because limit. Right now good enough that TM Unifi already expand in Kelantan.

Kedah , Perlis and other long way. Maybe need to wait till 2030 years.
If TM can cover all place in Malaysia. Maybe in major town and high population area will cover. Kota Bharu limit. Not all people will have.
By that time. Li-Fi seem impossible. New tech Li-Fi still not release official. Still in testing. Lifi light bulb really.

5G maybe good start but cable internet. Problem always like TM will say port full.
Port have but not ready. Condo limit. Box TM in front of taman but not install yet.

That why I say astro is more worst than TM...

Those Astro Tutor TV, Xiao Tai Yang all channels are cheapulak one. I can say it's totally useless and not a professional education channels.. Until now, these few channels haven't been ceased operation.
I believe that still have few demand to watch those kinds of channels..

Astro=in-house local recycle bin. More like

Astro first>Citra & Mustika HD>Ria
Astro best>Fox Movies Premium HD>HBO HD

First=local content
Best=international

astro in schools was a major business deal! TV pendidikan was sold off to astro! No student watches astro in schools! We wont see any good english cartoon or animations cos basic asstro ceria in BM caters to the many customers. See what happened to Disney when it was malaysianised? With importance of english neglected, they wont be much to look forward on asstro cos it will end with low viewership Sit and count the premium channels on asstro, you will be surprised its less then 50! Rest are all from own kitchen, recompiled, made for malaysia and some with slots sold to local advertisers Malaysians are a funny lot,they pay blindly for AF and AB not knowing they are getting a TV version and not a cinema version!! BTW did we hear of any In House channel closing down,cos low viewership ?!

Fox movies Premium HD is belongs to Fox network group
HBO HD is belongs to Time Warner

There is nothing related to Astro Best.
I think you mention Astro Best will publish during the new international movies just taken down from local cinema.


I never heard there's astro in schools.. Is it you say physical schools? If is channels schools. that's totally wasted resources.
But I know TM have physical schools which called TM university...


Seriously, there is no student will watch astro.. somemore need to pay 42+/monthly including these few education channels.. I suggest u rather spend slight higher amount go to tuition school learn something new.

What I realized that the astro cut the ads really unprofessional.. especially if you got watch Fox Movies Premium or HBO... The above small timing will announce remain how many minutes/seconds (If you have realize) will start to broadcast that movie..

But normally less than 2 or 3 minutes, astro will cut off those fox movies advertising, and broadcast in-house or local ads... These local ads will broadcast more than 3 or 4 minutes and then only start the movie show..

Kalau harga RM15.90 untuk tayangan sebulan. Memang berbaloi tapi 2 hari je.
Astro? Who recommend this Astro First and Best to be sold.

Yeah, the ads should be show any carton network / disney /Nickelodeon ads while you switch channels Animax. Each channels should be category...

Watch animax - ads either animax itself / disney ads / carton network ads... (Or introduce something kids food or kids event)

Watch fox movies - ads new movies launch in local cinema / hbo movies ads (Or introduce new luxury car / motobikes / any new products such as smartphones like professional one)

Watch chinese channels - ads should be all chinese... (But sometimes suddenly show India ads there.. ) Totally don't know this astro staff doing...

It's seems like astro don't know how to category the ads, macam copy n paste the ads video simply every channels... I think got brainless advertiser staff in astro... That why comes like this quality...

I think they will purposely install astro, due to sometimes new customers/parents sit in the meeting room to watch channels temporary (to avoid boring during waiting time) while waiting for teachers/tutors come to meeting room for further discuss regarding your kid's thing.

Same like us 2k except lunch there less than 3 dollars while us 9 ringgit

I was thinking akademi fantasia at first

showing astro boo ads for horror movies in most of the channels including midnight live football match really frustrating me

Imagine you watch kids channels such as carton network or animax, and broadcast astro boo ads for the break time. U see how?

I'm sure got "rich" people complain and shoot to MCMC in-proper broadcast the ads in wrong channels.
