HBO in Singapore uses Asia feed, the same Asia feed as Thailand, Indonesia, and many other SEA countries that provides HBO on their own respective pay TV providers.
HBO Asia do have censorship but only the severe scenes will be censored, such as the "f**k word on the dialogue of a movie.

Astro do have Dolby 5.1 audio, but 4K is still early stage for broadcasters worldwide to implement la, and it is still expensive to do so...
For sure, I believe, UHD service will come to Astro someday. It's just a matter of time.

Seems like Astro is the only satellite Pay TV provider can afford to have Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. And, here Astro take Nickelodeon(SD South East Asia feed) & Disney(Channel, Junior & XD) is Malaysia feed*.

This might explain on why Singapore based Pay TV like Starhub TV & Singtel TV can get HD version for Nickelodeon channel. Because, Singapore cartoon channel Nickelodeon is from HD South East Asia feed & not SD South East Asia feed for Malaysia & Indonesia.

The different between Nickelodeon SD & HD for South East Asia feed is SD feed have BM audio for Malaysia region. But, Nickelodeon South East Asia HD feed only have English, Chinese & Thailand audio. Hmm.....

Or we call as like Cartoon Network dedicated SD feed & HD feed. Not same. But, have same program show. Too bad, we still stuck with Nickelodeon SD feed for both Astro & HyppTV platform.

And also, this also explain why HyppTV not add Nickelodeon HD. Because, they take same feed like Astro one.

Astro is good in "fake" HD

People sees 16:9 straight thinks "ahh its HD" because its full screen...

Still remember those times when you have Astro Aruna? It was on channel 121 and it's a free channel. Astro Aruna mainly shows Indonesia sinetron (soap operas, or melodrama that had hundreds over episodes), and few other entertainment shows. The thing is, it airs sinetron that is 2 years after Indonesia TV broadcast. Well, it's a free channel back then.

But eventually the channel ceases, probably due to low viewership. Then later, they launch 2 channels for Indonesia content under Indo Pek for RM12.95/month. Of course, the content offerings compared to Astro Aruna with Bintang and Pelangi that is under Indo Pek, of cos Indo Pek is better. Because you're paying for it. Lol.

Still, if you can get to watch the content for free elsewhere, be in via satellite or OTT, in a legal way in terms of copyright law, why would you pay for it?

Can we agree that MegaTV was the first ever cable station in Malaysia? Or was it MetroVision?

The real question is Nat Geo Wild will be in HD with BM dub or BM sub.
Since astro one don't have subtitle at all.

Prefer to have English audio with BM subtittle.
