ART Variety is probably for Arab expats in Malaysia. So it's unlikely to be shutdown anytime soon.
Unless, if the viewers started d*cking about that channel.

So, about this pic.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Is it actually true that they aired Transformers on Astro Citra? Stolen directly from Fox Movies Play? (Hence the blurred out Fox Movies logo on the top left) |

QUOTE(Qash-M @ Aug 4 2017, 08:50 AM) Yep, another one bites the dust. We've lost another great channel. Hopefully Astro will try it's best to replace it with something new. Or maybe just leave it empty until they found a new channel. |

Hold up.
There's gonna be a new rival? How exciting. Of course, I'm talking about ANSA. Hopefully they don't mess it up like ABNXcess and MegaTV did. This post has been edited by XypherionID: Aug 21 2017, 12:10 AM |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Aug 21 2017, 12:02 AM) Allied, on HBO HD. Uncut here, too. There's a repeat happening tomorrow Tuesday 22 Aug at 9PM too. Go watch it or better, record it if you have PVR! and see if they censor, or no censor the sex scene. Note: Make sure your kids aren't watching with you, if you have one. (well, almost) |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Aug 23 2017, 05:15 PM) HBO in Singapore uses Asia feed, the same Asia feed as Thailand, Indonesia, and many other SEA countries that provides HBO on their own respective pay TV providers. Fox Movies (along with its sister channels) also did the same, but also mutes words/cut scenes that depicts sexual activities, too.HBO Asia do have censorship but only the severe scenes will be censored, such as the "f**k word on the dialogue of a movie. Like for example, you can't say the word 'j*rk *ff' or 'b*nging' on a romantic comedy movie. If a character is homosexual, you can't say 'g*y' either. No MxM kissing either. (Because they're afraid they might exist. Or worse, they might accept it.) |

Man, Astro subscribers are still salty (angry) over their horrid service.
While here, we barely even complain about their service. At least, I'm happy with mine. Also, I'm glad mine (Transvision, that is.) will have PVR in the next 3 months. Wish they also add 4K channels and Dolby support soon. In Malaysia, it's more likely to never happen. Sadly. |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Sep 7 2017, 12:02 AM) http://www.transvision.co.id/PVR.html I think that's going to be variable.Hmm... I wonder how big is the hard disk capacity.... Astro do have Dolby 5.1 audio, but 4K is still early stage for broadcasters worldwide to implement la, and it is still expensive to do so... For sure, I believe, UHD service will come to Astro someday. It's just a matter of time. Either 250GB, 500GB or even 1TB. Built-in or probably external HDD. I'm pretty sure TransVision will be Dolby supported, too. 4K might be possible in the next 12 months or so. So, yeah. |

QUOTE(Anime in HD @ Sep 6 2017, 10:32 PM) Wah. Good for you... Yes.Heard that Transvision also can ask question about Transvision service via WhatsApp? Is it true? Seems like Astro is the only satellite Pay TV provider can afford to have Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. And, here Astro take Nickelodeon(SD South East Asia feed) & Disney(Channel, Junior & XD) is Malaysia feed*. *source from lyngsat page. True or not, i don't know. This might explain on why Singapore based Pay TV like Starhub TV & Singtel TV can get HD version for Nickelodeon channel. Because, Singapore cartoon channel Nickelodeon is from HD South East Asia feed & not SD South East Asia feed for Malaysia & Indonesia. The different between Nickelodeon SD & HD for South East Asia feed is SD feed have BM audio for Malaysia region. But, Nickelodeon South East Asia HD feed only have English, Chinese & Thailand audio. Hmm..... Or we call as like Cartoon Network dedicated SD feed & HD feed. Not same. But, have same program show. Too bad, we still stuck with Nickelodeon SD feed for both Astro & HyppTV platform. And also, this also explain why HyppTV not add Nickelodeon HD. Because, they take same feed like Astro one. More info: Nickelodeon SD & HD feed split in Intelsat 19. Cartoon Network SD feed is on AsiaSat 7 & HD feed is locate on Measat 3a. |

Have you ever realize that Pelangi (CH 142) has suffered some major channel drift over the past few years?
Back then, it used to air Indonesian films, old and new. They even air TransTV programs, too. But now, most of the shows airing on that channel are mostly from NET. An Indonesian free-to-air TV channel. If that's the case, shouldn't they just rebrand to NET. International? Then add some more of that NET. programs that isn't on Pelangi's schecule. But what's the point of watching Pelangi when most of NET.'s shows are available for free online on YouTube and NET.'s VOD service, Zulu. |

Sorry for being late, but I guess I can reply to these posts regarding the Indo Pek channels.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Probably not gonna happen, theres still more Indon expats watching these channels, at least it's their own good. But people still doesn't know that » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Although HyppTV also has an Indonesian-language channel, Pesona HD. It airs shows from the Emtek Group. They used to have MNC CHannel, but it was discontinued. But yeah, let's hope they do. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I basically agree. They prefer Korean shows over Indonesian ones. I'm afraid that Indonesian contents on Astro might be scarce and sooner or later, they might drop from the platform. Also, some of the latest sinetron titles aren't available on either Bintang or Pelangi. So, they have to watch it somewhere else. |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Dec 1 2017, 12:36 AM) Still remember those times when you have Astro Aruna? It was on channel 121 and it's a free channel. Astro Aruna mainly shows Indonesia sinetron (soap operas, or melodrama that had hundreds over episodes), and few other entertainment shows. The thing is, it airs sinetron that is 2 years after Indonesia TV broadcast. Well, it's a free channel back then. I also agree. But eventually the channel ceases, probably due to low viewership. Then later, they launch 2 channels for Indonesia content under Indo Pek for RM12.95/month. Of course, the content offerings compared to Astro Aruna with Bintang and Pelangi that is under Indo Pek, of cos Indo Pek is better. Because you're paying for it. Lol. Still, if you can get to watch the content for free elsewhere, be in via satellite or OTT, in a legal way in terms of copyright law, why would you pay for it? I do remember when our version of Astro (a.k.a Astro Nusantara, 2006-2008) carries local versions of Astro channels, including Aruna, Kirana and Ceria. But still, Astro Aruna was poorly met with their viewers because of their unfamilliar programs. (Indon show, that is.) No wonder they shut it down. Of course, Pelangi and Bintang was the answer to Aruna after the shutdown. I bet someons still watches these, even though theres nothing good on those channel nowadays. They repeat the same shows over and over and no new shows whatsoever. No Dunia Terbalik, no The Comment, nada. Only available on FTA sattelite and online. |

QUOTE(smileguy @ Dec 9 2017, 05:38 AM) Man, it must be a tough time for Media Prima.Heck, they can't even produce enough HD programs, even during it's hard times. You know, tbh I'd rather see them getting acquired by TM rather than getting their butt whooped by Astro. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Dec 15 2017, 05:25 PM) Astro partners Chinese firm to launch livestream mobile app Tamago Tamago seems like a good concept as a live streaming platform. It's Malaysia's answer to Twitch.http://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/astr...bile-app-tamago Wish it had some actually good contents (UGCs also count), and not those 'rojak' things they bore to death. I bet Tamago is like the online version of eGG. |

QUOTE(Anime in HD @ Jan 24 2018, 05:38 PM) The real question is Nat Geo Wild will be in HD with BM dub or BM sub. No, how about this?Since astro one don't have subtitle at all. Prefer to have English audio with BM subtittle. English audio with BM subs + dubs as a secondary audio program. That's what most Asthrow channels offer. (Like HBO, CN, etc.) Even us, indon's pay-TV offer this, too. But most of us rely on original soundtrack with subs because we like to learn English. |
