Wah, I never knew there was such a 'heated' debate between philips and crossroads here in this thread.

I've owned a pair of Sony MDR-EX52SL, and I would say that just like every other mass marketed brand, it's for the masses, not audiophiles.
And there will always be heated debates between fans, so there is really no avoiding that. You just need to try them both out, and see which one suits you best. Don't buy into advertising or even friends advice... if you like it, then it's good for you. People just need to learn what they like and what they don't.

I personally have used a pair of xBi's and I find that they are really bang for your buck, but I'm selling mine off as I already have a pair of Shure's which isolations tops all of the above.

I would recommend crossroads to everyone one that I know who is looking for a good pair of buds, but I would always tell them to give it a listen first before purchasing.

The expensive ones yes. But the girl at the shop let me try out a few of the cheaper ones that were easier to open.

CrossRoads MylarOne Bijou looks good as I do agree with the price does provide good bass and treble. Yet I do hope the built quality of the product to further improve as a normal user like me face the same problem like ReaperOfSoul except that time I purchase don't have one year warranty...

My Xbi cable just kinda broke. The one on the plug, the plastic thing came out, months ago, and i stick it with cello tape. Now my left phone cable putus, just the string holding the piece together.

Gonna try recable with my old ori iPod cable, hopefully my ears not sensitive enough to notice any drop in SQ, if there is a drop, since both the wires looks the same inside. Now if I just can get the time to go out and buy that solder...

lol. i actually meant that the price is still a lil steep at about 170 a pair. and they're not for me, they're for my gf who looooooooves my xbi's bass  
so was wondering if there are ne other earbuds which offer same type of bass without the steep price

Actually girls would like XBi more than X3i, kindda weird.

Maybe because bass gives soft impact to their ear, head, and chest, so they prefer it. Treble's too rough for their ears. I think la, not factually
