Hello all.

This is my first post and i'm thinking of getting mylarone or mylarthree.

Between the two of them, which one is more accurate or analytical? Which one is more true?

I am using it for clinical purpose.

Thank you.

bro...pls add me msn xiao_ma16@hotmail.com
more accurate..i dont get ur meaning...??
*
I don't have msn mail. only got yahoo.

I mean that the iem gives sound that is accurate to the original recording. meaning no coloration, or excessive here and there. i think sony's earphone is not accurate, it distort the original sound, make it more boomy, and the music will sound different than studio recording.

I want a more analytical sound. No distortion so that i can hear the recording as it is recorded. distortion or excessive equalizing might gives a more pleasant sound but it could be distorted....

So i want it to sound like it was recorded in the studio, with no addition and distortion.

hope i make myself clear... hmm.gif

reading this forum just want me to get it these baby more and more... drool.gif

I want to know if the mylarone or mylarthree produce more accurate sound. mylarthree is better built, right? but if mylarone is more true or accurate, i might get this one instead.

Added on August 11, 2007, 8:08 pmanother thing,

what is the claimed frequency response of mylarone and mylarthree?

Also is the build quality good? The cable is okay?

I've tried the mylar3, honestly, I prefer how the mylar2 sounded. But if what you want is analytic ( aka boring sound to me tongue.gif ) the m3 might serve your purpose well. But then...you might want the im716? The disadvantage is that they needed to be amp
*
biggrin.gif Haha... yes I do want boring sound. I don't want to carry an amp around though. so no im716...
it's more expensive, right. and you have to buy an amp for it. smile.gif

and of course not mylar2 as i read here it's too fun and bass heavy... tongue.gif

PcWork, can get me one of those?  hmm.gif
What you need is a pair Etymotics  smile.gif
*
I'd like etymotics but it cost much more, right?

How much for a decent pair?

So need to have a trade off... tongue.gif

I guess mylarthree have more details... is that true?

You shouldn't be looking in this thread if you want analytical sound. Maybe you should try the Etymotic ER6i (less than RM400).
*
where to get one?

I'm not sure I am that stage yet that I want to spend 400 for iem...

never wear one, not sure if i'm okay with it...

what's your source? The er6i can be powered by an Ipod without an amp.

zen micro. should be as good or just a little bit better than ipod, right?

yup if anyone likes a more analytical detailed sound then the ER4/iM716 is the way to go esp. in IEMs. IMO the iM716 is NOT inferior to the ER4, more a case of a slightly different presentation. ER4s has a slight extended upper range but is leaner overall while iM716 holds the upper hand in having fuller bottom and mids IMO. but they both share far more similarities than differences. FWIW, i canceled my ER4 order becoz im totally happy with my mod iM716.

Yuin PK series is another thing but based on all that i've read, they fall more into the "musical" category rather than "analytical". musical generally means warm, fuller and more balanced in range.

i believe the mylars 2 and 3 will be similiar to the YUINs and fall into the musical category. based on my personal impressions, the M2 is much warmer (bassier) unless amped synergistically while the M3 is quite nice even unamped. FWIW even with my newly acquired audio preferences, the M3 via my 1st gen shuffle makes good music and is now my ultra portable rig  nod.gif thumbup.gif  .

another issue to be aware of is the question of comfort. true IEMs like ER4/iM716 can be b**** to fit and have been known to cause abit of discomfit for some folks. M2/M3 fit and SQ depends largely on the correct size tips for one's ears. Yuins PKs are just normal earbuds and thus should be supremely comfortable with the downside of non existing sound isolation. bottomline - theres no perfection. u pays your money u's takes your risks! whistling.gif  rolleyes.gif  laugh.gif
*
isolation is important, no amp is important.

I also want good seperation. I guess most of these have good seperation, right?

I read somewhere in this forum that it's hard to find tips for im716... is it?

Added on August 12, 2007, 7:06 pmif i were to choose between m1 and m2,

which one have better seperation and detail?
which one is more analytical?

based on your above criteria, IMO the mylar M3 will be your cuppa tea! fitted with d correct tips, even a trip to the biggest Pasar Malam will not deter u from hearing your music. unamped the M3 is much better with most ori DAPs. YMMV of'coz.
*
Thanks. I think this will be okay for my first iem.

This forum is poisonous.

Any advice on how to care or mod for the m3? I heard somewher that it's build quality is not the best and need better care than some other brand but it has improved upon m1.

Added on August 13, 2007, 5:25 pmI don't want m2 as it's too bassy?

I think one is yuheng's, one is mine. Poor yuheng is sick.
I dunno, maybe using some foam tips will help. I already get used to it.
*
walabies, you sell foamies for m3?

How much?

Does wearing the cable over the ear ala ety solve the microphonic problem?

well when you're walking the bass from your feet is always too much. I thik this can't be avoided, unless you tip toed, right? hmm.gif smile.gif

doh.gif is microphonic effect la. Where got so advance got microphone.
Dont have that, but I think some of other tips may reduce that. I think you can try to ask IEM sifus, scottiebabie and EFN how to reduce it.
*
Maybe I need to get a double flange from those who sells them here, if it gives better isolation when used in combination with mylar3.

Overall, the stock tips still allows outside noise, making it comparatively safer than total isolation. But in certain case I would like better isolation.
