I would suggest you start with funds that have a big geographical coverage first buddy rather than country specific which is a very risky business especially with Malaysia and China going through tough times.

here's some for you.
Global Titans Fund for developed countries like US, Europe, England coverage
Cimb Asia ex Japan Dynamic for Asia ex Japan coverage including China
East spring global merging markets for emerging countries
*
Okay, i will check out its historical performance

Eh, not real money la, imaginary only. So returns also imaginary only  sweat.gif

The PM agent promised RM100 prize money per person for exceeding his bet though

Imaginary money doesnt have much weightage.

Its just like itrade stock games using imaginary money, and the winners are winning because they all trades high risk call warrants.

Agreed with the other reply you got. You need to start with a broader base and learn the market before going in deeper.

KGF is OK. At the very least you support your local markets.

But don't get the CIMB Greater China Fund (as great as it may be) without covering other less risky bases first.

The best broad-base suggestion I can give is the CIMB Asia Pacific Dynamic Income Fund or the RHB Asian Income Fund. As a newbie, you should pick one of these two and then go in to deeper markets (Greater China, India, Australia, SEA etc). Another suggestion would be the CIMB Global Titans Fund, but it's hard to say if this will be a good or bad or OK year for developed markets. The Eastspring Global Leaders MY Fund or the Eastspring Emerging Markets Fund are also worth looking in to.

greater china is because of its consistent historical performance. Global Titans Fund is also one of my pick too.

Guys, i have a question. I have read all fsm faq, and suddenly i think if this scenario.

According to faq, switching isnt eligible for fsm promo rates.
If i park my money at CMF, if i switch from CMF to UT, i am ineligible for 0.5% promo rate?

Another question is, transaction before 3pm working day is considered transacted on that day. But 14 jan Saturday is not a working day, therefore, it doesn't matter what time i transact on saturday, its still considered transact using monday working date price?

CMF was not eligible for switching, rather, it is like a cash proceed account like your bank account.

So when you switch from CMF to others, is not actually a switch, rather, a transaction just like using FPX.

So, paying using CMF or FPX is the same, you are eligible for the promo rate smile.gif

great to know that

You have to buy it during the workshop's timing on Saturday and yes, your NAV would be based on Monday's closing price.

out of workshop's timing is ineligble for promo? that sucks. i thought its for whole saturday

guys, i got a question. i wanna ask, on FSM website, it shows the fund performance. my question is the fund performance as its stated or we need to manually deduct the Annual Management Fee to get the Real performance?

after being advised by lots of FSM member here regarding the importance of diversification, i think i gonna get the following on saturday: generally, its from FSM recommended fund and recommended portfolio

CIMB-Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Income Fund - MYR 20%
CIMB-Principal Global Titans Fund 20%
CIMB-Principal Greater China Equity Fund 20%
Eastspring Investments Small-Cap Fund 20%
Affin Hwang Select Asia (Ex Japan) Quantum Fund 20%

as balanced as that can be, do you have that much trust in small cap in this country? usually they put around 5-10% only due to their high volatility. i presume you are going 100% equities and no fixed income then?
*
I think i am more confident on malayaia's small cap. I think because it is a small cap, it got bigger room to grow. I have evaluate eastspring small cap (esc) and kgf for malaysia segment, i think overall esc perform better than kgf and kgf have bluechips like tenaga and sumedarby (from the latest kgf factsheet). I have bad experience on both tenaga and simedarby.

I think i am going equities only, because already around 75% of my asset is on "fixed income " "equilvalent" that are quite low return called EPF. ( malaysia biggest ponzi)
