My car has very loud exhaust noise I think it's a bad muffler because I check with the Center box which is the resonator and the catalytic converter is fine. Now I need a silent muffler to make my whole exhaust system sound more refine and subtle to drive

Accelerating between 1-2.5k rpm unbearable

Vios 2011 ncp93 2nd facelifted everything is stock btw

Budget 300rm for muffler change

A good low noise muffler will be delightful to drive right guys ?

Has anyone has the noisy vios problem ?

Ya I notice that but I have a problem where my friend ncp 93 has quiter cabin noise compare to my. His car only make loud noise when rpm is over 3k. Mine is like between 1-2k rpm can hear the noise already very frustrating to drive around.

I had checked the exhaust system like
Exhaust Manafold
Catalytic converter
Center box resonator all is fine

Except for the muffler. They didn't check the muffler

But the weird thing is the sound is like come from the front of the car when I'm driving. But my engine noise sound fine when open the bonnet to inspect for exhaust manafold leak

Revving the engine on N or P does not create the rambling engine noise. Only when you drive the car.

I do take care of my maintenc. Spark plug oil change those etc

how old is your ride?

Maybe the sound dampening material inside the muffler burn out already

Sorry for late reply my car is near 5 years old from 2011
Ya it could be but hard to imply that the muffler can produce sound come from the front. But I doubt that is back pressure from the muffler to cause the whole exhaust system to become loud.

I did check those air filter intake and those throttle body and stuff. All seems to be fine. Now I was thinking which problem is causing the loud noise.

Pop my head outside the window noise come from middle until the back of the car. While sitting inside the noise rather come from the front. Weird !!!

what is your engine mileage and what engine oil you used?

If everything from exhaust & air filter is original and no leaking found. The next thing to check is your internal engine stuff, Toyota engine if use wrong oil or did not maintain well will built up rough timing chain sound over the years. If this is the sound you cant do anything already, either change engine or full overhaul with timing chain change.
