Fed rate decision 21 Sep consensus is 75 points rise with target 4.5% by Feb 2023. Present Fed rate is 2.5%. This strong trend signals further rate increases for MALAYSIA. How high can we tahan bearing in mind elections

Arrrr the Ukrane war has got nothing to do with higher interest rates.

No one ask why instead of increasing interest rates gradually, they decide to increase interest rates by so much at one go after having almost zero interest rates for so long.

It's not as if they could not see that there would be inflation from a long time ago.

Actually inflation has always been transfered across the globe. That is why you do not see much inflation in US despite the fact that they print so much.

I have not followed the economy for quite a long time but then do you know that US has a lot of oil and yet the government refused to release the oil and so US are forced to use expensive oil which contributes a lot to their inflation?

This is a good point, even if I'd prefer some more reputable websites that allow you to set-up your 2-factor authentication on a device or password manager of your choice instead of a dedicated hardware, I think forcing everyone to use bank proprietary apps on the same smartphone that most are also performing their transactions on kind of defeat the purpose of, there are no 2 factors anymore.

Looks like rates very good. Though the exchange rate sucks, but ringgit indeed on downtrend and if there's a recovery, aussie looks good considering their natural resources.

What I meant was not transfer from HSBC to another bank. Mine was on FD maturity funds were only credired to my nominated account in the evening not in the morning of date of maturity.

this question more relevant if you earn substantial amount of profit.

then roll the profit for another bank/placement, maybe with better rate.
