QUOTE(LazyKurosaki @ Jun 13 2017, 05:56 PM) Sorry. Jz wanna understand ppl behaviour more. May I know why people prefer fd over unit trust which cn potentially gives u higher return ? No clear answer on this bro, depend on your risk appetite.. high risk high return, FD no risk low returnFor myself still young guy, 70% still go Unit Trust + Share trading, 30% to FD |

I had just read thru the past 2 pages and the front page.. so the best so far is
1) OCBC 12M 4.38 2) HLBB 18M 4.38 Anyone got idea the OPR for next 18 months ? 18 months could be risky for another hike i foresee. taught ? |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Feb 18 2018, 11:01 AM) you're kidding, right? who can predict or even know for sure the OPR for the next 18mths la next 18 mths (from now) means there are about 9 MPC meetings to go. even after each MPC meeting, nobody knows exactly how each bank reacts to it. FD rate doesnt rely on OPR solely and exclusively, there are other combination factors too. QUOTE(kenny79 @ Feb 18 2018, 11:05 AM) I think fd rate really hard to guess on which rate Yes agree, but generally OPR changes do influence the rate too right ? for me 18 months could be too long.. I want to have OCBC, but sadly there is no branch here.. with BR is giving lousy rate.. (3.8% for 12M) impossible i put it there.. at my location the most decent so far is HLBB / UOB 12M at 4.3%...None one here is fortune teller.. so just consider as you own. |

QUOTE(Cookie101 @ Mar 18 2019, 10:36 AM) Can uplift no problem. My gosh.. Cash out meant? Can put all in account right? Take cash ? FD for sure more than that...Cannot cash out beyond 20k. Also need to ensure signature is in their system otherwise they will contact the original branch for verification which will take some time.
