I am in bank Islam now, yes 4.5% 12 months. Only this promotion nothing else, longer duration don't have promotion.

Just went to Bank Islam, Bank Islam said no new promo based on new OPR 3%.

1 year FD promo is still 4.25% until further notice from HQ.

Yes I uplifted one BI FD and another from another bank put into BI. According to the branch manager at least 6 certificates done since morning to 11am. I got 4.5% 12 months no monthly interest. Maybe they change the rules after 1pm? I don't know. I am from JB and branch at JB.

When I was at the other bank, another customer beside me uplifted 2m FD.... lol. The counter manager kept asking them questions.

Another observation is if FD matures on Sat, BI seems to let the maturity settle on Sat. No interest rate for Sat Sun if you take out Mon. However today's placement they gave me maturity 6th May 2025, ie Mon. So let's see if they will give me the additional 1 day interest. Or BI staff can decide which day to mature if it falls on weekend?

Normally when OPR changed for the lower, the banks will revise down the next day or the day itself. It will take them a while to revise upwards when OPR goes up.

When you apply the FD, it will mention the rate. Online FD can do very easily. Will not lari one. I now put 6 months period only cuz we anticipate bnm to continually increase blr that will inturn cause banks to adjust FD rate. Mature current FD the apply the higher rate one rugi if you do 12month.

Need special approval? They say need 2 week’s turnaround to be considered fresh fund…. What la. Never encountered such with other bank. Transfer out and back no issues.

If feel so much troublesome.... Then don't need to place the FD with them..

The branch manager in puchong say cannot la, Islamic terms la, then I told them I come back 2 weeks she actually say cannot because got record.  Because not fresh fund bla bla

PB have very large pool of ah pek businessman with lots of cash that are not updated with FD rates of other banks.

Some even die die will not place 4.5% at Bank Islam, Mualamat or Rakyat because they think it's not safe as it's not run by Chinese.. lol
