Yes, too good rate won't be easy can say is a reluctant sales if you know the meaning

My daughter has joint account long long ago with me, as a minor, now as adult I thought she qualifies as New to HLb, but guess what, they said No, she is not qualified....isn't this reluctant sales?

Luckily one good point about HLB it allows proxy unlike alliance bank so damn strict won't allow me to use another person as my joint first name

Currently HLB account holder, thought could use wife's name to enjoy the promo. They checked and found she had some accounts years back, so don't qualify too 😄 Most of the staff, even some RM doesn't know about the promo

Do you mean so long as you had an account with HLB before, but the said account had already been closed years ago do not qualify for the promo too?

true, i called my HLB RM friday and she didnt know also!
she told me bundle product etc without checking.. bla bla....
guessed she didnt think got 4.58% FD..

to me this HLB policy is ridiculous

i argued with my HLB RM as i thought that was unreasonable

my daughter was a minor joint with me then, where got own account.
then that account already closed so long

i said is HLB stupid, just becos got name in system
you dont want new Priority member? she wanted her KPI of course

so she appealed to HQ and approved

best part is she rushed to my house same day
brought her teller with lap top
just to get my proxies' signature, biometrics etc before they left

i never thought can open FD like that ,
kind of open 'blank' fd first--
deposit money can do days later...
if not i wont be able to get this 4.58 also

How safe is it to put money in e fixed deposit actually? Seem like quite a few news that say money transferred out and account holder dont know

no diff than any other banking services

those issues were due to internal fraud. u think only FD unsafe?

there are also reported case whereby amount from physical fd/account without online banking being transferred without authentication
so how safe is physical fd relative to e-fd?

yes. put fd into multiple bank . it is the safer option. dont put all in one basket

i will go for the rates rather than spreading out for fear
give me top rates i wont mind put all there

i usually max out 250k and then look for others.

although i'm not sure how helpful pidm is when fraud does happen though...
