Curious to know - on the PIDM protection of RM250k, so if you have accounts in Be-U and Bank Islam, is your cover PIDM RM250k for both or RM250k in each bank?

Be U is not listed separately on PIDM’s member bank list, only Bank Islam is. So I guess Be U deposits fall under Bank Islam’s PIDM coverage, sharing the RM250k limit hmm.gif

There are better ones out there

Affin
FD 12 months at 3.75% pa
TiA 12 months at 3.83% pa

Bank Islam
FD 12 months at 3.88% pa

UOB
CASA/FD bundle 20% in CASA and 80% in FD for 6 months at 4.1% typo not 4.3% pa. The CASA can be OneAccount, which is a high yield interest account with 200k at effective 3.63% pa

Acquisition to new PB
HLB - FD 6 months at 4.58% pa
UOB - FD 6 months at 4.3% pa

Zero interest in opening a new account for a few months "new customer rate". UOB, Standard Chartered, HSBC, Maybank, and so on. Never competitive later, just a waste of time. Speakting of waste of time, no interest in OTC business, only online, my time is way too precious to walk into branches and pick a number.

And finally, yes, Bank Islam, usually is competitve, but I don´t do business with them.

What do mean zero interest for new accounts for few months?

We go open new account is to place FD, HSBC 4.28%, HLB 4.58%. Interest starts counting from day 1...

Who would go put few hundred ks in savings lah bro..no interest you are surprised??

He is not talking about putting a few hundred in savings...what he meant was that he is not keen to open another new account to get the special interest even tough the new account rates are better like that of UOB with 4.3% @ 6 months. I was also hesitating..

it is fine if you not keen , you dont go open new account

but why say the reason is 'banks pay zero interest for a few months.....'???

we all opened new account we got 4.28% from HSBC, 4.58% from HLB, etc..

so why he said no interest?
and worse for a few months....so long????

even saving accounts also got some interest lah!
i mentioned few hundred ks becos if amount small interest is negligible what to complain lah...

I walk in bank islam to open a saving account just for the 3.88% term deposit but it's very disappointing as couldn't manage to placed one it gave me an error "ACC_V1131".

Revisited the bank the next day for a solution but the officer look clueless she help me to contact the call center on the spot but bad news is that even the call center staff could not offer her with a solution. The only saving grace for bimb is that their officer is rather helpful i would say so big up to her for that. In the end ask me to wait for her call which god knows when but finger cross.

Thinking about closing HLB account as it's not the main personal bank so as to be able to apply any new client offer in the future. Thoughts?

OTC for promo rate.

All the while, it has been OTC for UOB. The website or app doesn't have the promo feature unlike some other banks

This is New-To-Bank campaign for new Wealth Banking customers. It means you must not have any banking relationship with UOB be it savings, loan, credit cards and etc. Wealth Banking means having an AUM of rm150k.

If you are interested, I can refer you to my RM. Will share 50% of the referral fees to you

Hi i am interested to UOB New-To-Bank campaign. Can pm me ur contact number please? Thanks.

I said my interest is zero.

These banks that offer one time a good interest for a very short period like 6 months, yes, I also did this years before, meanwhile closed the accounts again, costed me much more of my very precious time than I got extra interest.
