I hope so...if base rates can go up to 4.5%...straight lock 5 years FD!

This FD game is sooo tense..... u sai lang now.... rates will go up.... u wait u loose interest.... lol...u lock in the best rates now... the tenure is long.... LOL...... welcome to the FD game.....

Got 4.5% ok already lah. Even if naik to 5% 6 mths down the road also lose little bit only. It is not worth to play waiting game > 1 mth. Just place the FDs....my strategy very simple, just place whatever highest FDs currently, unless like last 2 mths, got anticipated rate hikes, can wait a bit.

I just stagger my FDs all year round....no need to think hard. This is not stock market. Not worth wasting time on it.

There used to be. Eventually dies off since many questioned the authenticity of the rates given to those big sharks. So rather redundant.

100k put which bank FD rate good? Just now went to ocbc and they offered bundle with insurance type can get 6% 13months . Got commitment abit hesitated le..

if FD, just do pure FD. dont bother with other stuffs, if you're worried of commitment or disappointment.

refer list above as a guide. rm100k likely wont get you special rate.

perhaps do bank "shopping" and nego with them?

Is there any bank offering more than 18 month FD? Think Banks are just as cautious as depositors to go very long right now.

As expected, UK, EU and USA have each raised their base rates by 0.5% this week. I think OPR has to also rise again in January.

If you want easy, AMB flex account. Min 20k though. Otherwise some pay and transact type of BSA will do, but I am lazy. Basically almost all BSA sucks anyway. Am looking for a good saving account too
