QUOTE(pangolin88 @ Jun 20 2020, 08:08 AM) MY FD in ambank was auto renewed at 2.05%. I wanted to redeem it and transfer to another bank so that on transferring back it is regarded as fresh funds. Placement is over the counter? For the last 3 days I have been unable to redeem it .. error message is .. "unable to redeem because of technical error. Please try again in a few days" Anybody has this same problem. Their helpline is grossly inefficient. To confirm my identity they asked me some security questions. The trouble is the questions they asked are not what I selected!! |

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Jun 22 2020, 12:22 PM) Thank you for your reply, Bro ... Next meeting is on 7 Jul 2020. I have a major FD maturing on 6 Jul 2020. You don't know how happy I am BR's 3.00% for 11 months & 2.8% for 7 months with monthly interest are still the best FD promo in the market so far.. Who can fight with Bank Rakyat?? |

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Jun 24 2020, 09:57 PM) Maybe no more cut? That will be the best. If the OPR rate is maintained, I believe banks will be brave enough to touch the 3% mark May's deflation not a reason for another OPR cut — economists https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/mays...0%94-economists |

QUOTE(babysotong @ Jun 24 2020, 10:12 PM) Updated Good job on updating. As much as summarizing just the best rate is good, having other options would be useful too. Just my 2 cents Summary - BEST rates so far: 2 months - MBB (online) - 2. 43% 3 months - Affin (online) - 2.68% 5 months - Alliance (not too sure online or OTC) - 3.00% 6 months - Affin (online) - 2.88% 7 months - UOB (OTC) - 2.65% 9 months - BR (OTC) - 2.80% (no PIDM) 9 months - UOB (OTC) - 2.75% 11 months - BR (OTC) - 3.00% (no PIDM) 12 months - RHB (online) - 2.80% jason2010 liked this post

QUOTE(HumanLobster @ Jun 27 2020, 01:37 PM) Yeah I thought it was too good to be true too but she sounded confident. Outside of the 10k minimum, she didn’t mention any other caveats. Might just pop into the branch on Monday to see what it’s about. I have been to UOB branch every week in June. Heard nothing about 3.3% FDThis post has been edited by Human Nature: Jun 27 2020, 02:20 PM |

QUOTE(faradie @ Jun 29 2020, 09:05 PM) Few days ago there was an article in the Star which shows how much our people have invested in FD. The tone of the article is our savings are excessive and therefore maybe interest rates should come down further to encourage more spending And today's new asking people to spend and help Malaysia. All these are good from economic point of view, to revive the economy. However, it is human nature to save more and be prudent during hard times. To prepare for rainy days.At the same time, there are talks about banks getting stressed due to the moratorium and now extension. So maybe it's time to offer higher rate to lock in deposits for cash flow? Or it doesn't work that way? Ignore me if sound stupid haha This post has been edited by Human Nature: Jun 29 2020, 09:19 PM |

QUOTE(babysotong @ Jul 2 2020, 10:28 AM) Not attractive as have to place 30% in CASA. The effective rates range from 2.39% to 2.89% depending on the type of CASA and whether you are a normal or priority customer. I would take 2.89 but only if it is 12 months. Highest among all with the exception of BR. |

QUOTE(Micky78 @ Jul 3 2020, 01:22 PM) BNM can increase the limit and set some necessary measure, for example anything above 50K to a certain value can be subjected to more stringent checking. Basically just replicate Rentas in an online form. |
