Which banks offer best rates now for 6 months FD?
*
I placed with HLB 6mths @ 3.65%. Easy to FPX in from some of my recent Affin and BI matured FDs.

Can I use the same login as BI Go app?

Thanks for the heads up. May I know until when ? Can't find info on website.

It's under your online banking. Select to apply Islamic Fixed Deposit, and the option will appear.

I think you need a new account because BEU Bank can't access Bank Islam. The good news is you can leave zero balance in your new BEU savings account. Debit card is optional so no annual charges.

BUT... Bank Islam's new BIMB platform now also offers 4% on term deposits. Just login to BIMB and navigate to:
Wealth -> Add New Wealth -> Add New Wealth Account -> Term Deposit Tawarruq-i

Great information. But, no Maybank for FPX? doh.gif now I'll have to transfer from Maybank to another bank that's in the list.

Clause 3.5 not logical, free pass for gross negligence and willful misconduct

Maybe you have misread.

Its says, " ... unless such loss, claim, compensation and damages are attributable by the BMMB’s gross negligence and willful misconduct."

For 3.55%, you can opt for HLB 3.55% 4 mths. Already placed twice this week. Too bad the week before I placed 3.5% for 3 mths.

Copied directly from portal.

Min. RM 1,000, max. RM 200,000 per placement

The reason people lock-in a longer term because of the market expectation that OPR will go down in these 12 months.
*
The reason people THERE ARE those who lock-in shorter term is because of their requirement for fund utilization at different points of their life ie. Family medical insurance, house renovation, major car repair cost, child's education .... this is on top of their longer term placement. Say I know come January, I need to pay RM15k for medical insurance, rather than leaving it in my savings, I'll place that in an FD for 3 months. Say I know I need to renovate home for family expansion mid next year, I'll place the funds in FD for 6 months. When I sold my home to pay for my new unit, I staggered my FD placements knowing there will be various stage completion payments. This is called planning.

You are stating the obvious for many in here. Everyone who shares which bank offers what rates for what period is so that options are available.

Spent 50 mins at MBSB Puchong just to place an FD. Newly renovated, and only allocated space for 2 counters?

It is high time that BNM impose on banks to make available online for any bank promo FD rates. It is time wasted that some just do not have. Driving out 15 mins from my office, finding parking, then the transaction, then 15 mins back.

Granted it is the last day for 3.75%. Have no issue with the staff service, but it takes just too damn long. I can understand why some people just go for lower rate if they can get it done online.

Well, I'll be damned. I just realise HLB eFD FPX cannot be remitted from MBSB bank where my FD recently matured.

No savings account in MBSB?

I'm saying MBSB isn't on the list of other banks to be selected for FPX in HLB.
