Went personally to uplift FD that just matured. They are aware of MBSB 4%. Asked me to remain with BI, will request special rate. Checked, best they can offer is just 3.85%.
Not misleading, not a 'promo''.  Hence why I said special rate.

I declined, so just asked for banker's cheque and left.

actually i dont understand this part.

why ppl keep saying fed cut rates or whatever will affect our FD rates..

because when feds (USA) raised their interest rates multiple times, we did not go along.. That's why MYR was suffering for quite sometime...
So our FD rates did not rise when the feds raised theirs.. Right now our interest rates is same as pre-covid level..

So how to lower our own interest rates further when we never raise it in the first place?

even if the tax the same, you need 2.5 mil to get 100k interest payout at 4%PA.

Bank Muamalat FD reduced to 50k (from 100k) for 4.05% with mthly profit.

Depends on your amt, how big is big ? 

U can always ask them.

Ya, I also withdraw the TS amt together with the FD and moved them to Muamalat.

But did not see more Chinese in the branch that I went. Maybe because of the min 50k for the promo or because of other reasons.
