QUOTE(bbgoat @ Mar 19 2017, 09:08 AM) Never placed any foreign FD before. Wow, 1% penalty for the NZ FD ! Citigold FD/UT investment bundle is good, better than the OCBC one that I took up last Nov. Sales charge also lower. In January I placed FD with MBSB at 4.2% 9 and 12 mths FD. Can call them to nego the rates first. For larger sums should be easy to get 4.1%. For even larger (>100k), try for higher rate. I don't think their 5 yrs rate (though not sure current offer) are competitive or worth put in at current atmosphere. UT service charge is 3%. The return has to be x + 3%. Ambank has bundle offer with ASNB-V. FD 8.88% for 3 months. End 31 March. 8 months FD 4.08% promo till 30 Apr

QUOTE(ecVk @ Mar 16 2017, 01:04 PM) Currently Maybank is giving 4+4(rollover)+4(rollover) FD with a FD effective rate of 3.88%. Is it a good FD promo to place with? Maybank FD/IFD-i Triple Bonus Campaign (4 + 4 + 4 months) [ MBB | T&Cs (Conventional) | T&Cs (Islamic) ] Enjoy great rates with a minimum fresh deposit of RM10,000 for Individual or RM25,000 for SME/Business Banking customers in a single certificate. End 31 March. 8 months FD 4.08% promo till 30 Apr OT a little bit: I have said before that cannot buy UT just because of the FD/UT promo. Just because I wanted to buy UT then the FD/UT promo comes along .................. UT has to hold longer term waiting for the appreciation (if it happens ). Citigold FD/UT promo is FD 9.99% for 3 mths. Sales charge 2.5%. But I also took up their pure FD of 3 mth 4.88% 2 weeks ago. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Mar 21 2017, 08:26 PM

maybank islamic has 3.7% for 5 months...until end of this month if not mistaken...
affin islamic has 4% for 12 months, however there are some guidelines as per below...
1. at least CASA & FD > 100k in the bank 2. Fd placement has to be 20k or more
it expires 24th of march for the ss2 branch however i was told the offer is rotating between branches...it is called customer appreciation promo...

What does fresh fund mean usually?
If I were to remove let's say RM10k from PBB, how long do I have to wait only can put it back in and be considered as fresh fund?
Is it the same concept/terms for fresh fund for every bank in Malaysia?

CIMB Wisma Genting, rate 4.2% for 1 year. They didn't specify the minimum amount, seems like they are quite flexible. I was told min is 4.15% and max is 4.2%. As shared by many they need to obtain HQ approval. This rate ends this Friday. Please ask branch directly for best rate Attached thumbnail(s)

Hi sifus, i see alot of good rates (4%++) being mentioned here from branch bank but I couldn't find any from official website. Do you go bargain with the bank counter/ service of the branch?
Assuming I have RM 40,000 for FD, should i try to bargain with the branch bank or just search for promotions available from official website?
