I started to collect CE last year, bought Titanfall statue (sorry for mentioning this here) and The Order 1886 statue, tried to bring Evolve Goliath here but i can't find a way.

After awhile i realised, if i keep chasing CE i left with no budget to actually buy any games i wanted. Plus i don't have space to display the statue. Sold both of the statue bye.gif and now keep drooling on the CE release. sweat.gif

Don't worry. We are reasonable people, not the super sensitive forum polis type. Highlight what you need smile.gif

For CE I can only recommend go for those that you really like. Else the expenses is going to catch up with you really fast. Personally I only buy a game once every 3 months. (my average per game lifespan) RM180/3 = RM60 per months ++. Something most ppl can live with. Some advise for sharing:

Single player games: Short lifespan and re-playability. Ppl finish will tend to try sell it off. Don't rush for day 1 gameplay, its the same if you play it 30-60 days later. Promo will hit the block soon. Like now I can buy fallout 4 at lower price compare to 239 during launch. Its still single player mode anyway.

Multiplayer games: Due to the multiplayer factor, you probably will have to follow the mass crowd aka week 1 purchase. This one you will have to invest to buy at premium price.

Selling off a good quality CE to fund game is quite a waste imho. (if main living necessity then different) Esp after u spend so many effort to bring it in in good condition, and it is a piece that you really like. Some CE also once out of production the price sky rocket too. Personally I sold off those I don't like that much and only kept a few.

Due to my working status, i'm only able to play every 2 or 3months, last year Q4 was a challenged, lots of title i wanna play, i spend over 1k just for the games and i still missed few titles, imagine if i include CE into the account, interested on BF1 and TF2 CE sweat.gif

Anyway good luck with your collection thumbup.gif

Just to ask, how is the gamers and collectors community in Malaysia?

Have you guys meet any other collectors to share and discuss about loots? Not from bragging/showoff stand point of view, but just meeting ppl with similar interest. The "hey there, I saw you are collecting that too.. do you play this game too.. etc etc)

I have some good and bad experience on this. Some I meet was extremely friendly, the usual gamer collector who are often shy, soft spoken, easy to talk to without much drama, simple ppl you wont mind having talking more about gaming and to share some good and bad experience in collection and share a few laughs with. Ppl you know if you killed them in friendly match, they wont hold grudges and can still laugh together. Ppl which you can also sometime just give them a collector's edition as a present for free because you know this guy likes it so much, ahh might as well. (really close ones)

Then I have the second type who are, unfortunately the jelly ego type. Can be 2 category, one that has less gaming/collection progression than you, and the other type that has more gaming/collection progression than you. Regardless its lesser, same or more than you, you can always rest assure these ppl has immerse competitive ego driven agendas. Whether it is to throw a few cheap low jabs onto you, or to start creating some people dramas. Even when losing to you in a simple casual gaming, is going to kill their pride. Worst, bring the gaming drama into real life.

More than 18 years in the gaming community, include the extreme arcade and gaming competition environment (as both participant and observant) I have already quitted the competition approach in gaming and even has reduced down my collection (I am retired casual gamer la biggrin.gif).

lol what about those who can't take humor and treats everything so seriously? What happen lAh? I met a few and played with plenty. Some ppl just take their craft seriously so maybe perceive as jealous. Some ppl maybe more talkative. Are you saying only usual shy ppl are friendly?

Relax bro. Is only a hobby / game / collection community. If ppl share let them share. If ppl brag let them brag. No one forcing anyone to do this. This is a forum after all.

Come let's go yum cha and let it all out 😊😊😊

Hmm, not sure if I should put this cause most people I talk to think I'm crazy. Well, I think I'm half-crazy as well.

The reason I collect is because I want to build a library in the future. Like how books are seen as acceptable to have a room and library dedicated to them, I feel that games should be allowed to be treated the same way. So I'm buying older games and chronicling them in a blog.

However, I do hope that me saying this doesn't make people feel the need to charge a "collector" more money for the games that they don't want anymore because you are a "collector".

Haha yes. It does tend to get bulky and no place to display over time. But once you setup proper shelfing and display for it, it is quite a satisfying personal achievement. In the end, it is in the eye of the collector what he believes is worth the effort and time.

Nothing crazy about it bruh. As long its your own hard earn money and you buy within your financial capability means, other ppl don't have any dicktate say over it.

This guy for example collected all Wii games as collectors edition. Perhaps one day someone will post that he bought all PlayStation games (ori)?

All will be a stretch. 60% of all the exclusive/one-off games I'll be happy already. Unless someone is willing to help fund me.

I remember the day I decided to sell off my collections, It was the most painful decision ever to let them go. Some at extremely below market price too.

My TLOU collectors Edition with Ellie and Joel statue and Ni No Kuni Collector's Edition, all went out cheap! cry.gif

But I lazy to goreng. At least pass the joy to the next collector guy biggrin.gif

Yeah, to me if someone really appreciate the collection I'm OK with giving it away for free.

Free is too generous la. We have to cover our expenses too. biggrin.gif

But honestly I have never seen yet a person who collects PlayStation games in a massive scale and make it into a library. PS1 and 2 ori games pretty much is out of the question because of our pirate era. But I think starting from PS3 and 4 era, it would be quite an impressive collection to see. Plus PS3 and 4 games casing and product are quite durable. No issue to get old games stocks easily at low price too.

But this is hard to achieve, coz its like buying each game when they are launched. Wallet koyak man. sweat.gif

I have myselfa good collection of figurines. Some are rare, but all were my favourite. I have to sell them away because I was being transferred to work somewhere else, not knowing if keeping them inside boxes for years would actually maintain the condition of the figurines.

The decision to sell was tough, but had to be. I'm still buying CE though, only selected games which I think is worth.

Haha, we all have to let go sometime I guess.

Nice game figurine collection bro. Too bad they didn't launch Xenosaga with Thelos and Kosmos in any collector's edition. Not sure if there was a collector's edition for Xenosaga during PS3 days. Just standard edition game?

Personally I wish they include better quality items into the collector's edition. blush.gif

There was one for Episode 1 & 2, it had KOS-MOS figurine. But it was only available in Japan. This was a time back in the early 2000s when Westerners were still in the mindset not to get any extra merchandise/weebo stuff for their games. Changed in PS3/Xbox 360 era once publishers like Ubisoft and Activision found out how much fans are willing to pay for useless (my opionion) crap.

Also... holy *censored*
