Hi guys, I was using premiere pro cs6 to edit my video previously. (without a GPU, using mercury software)

And then I invest a GTX 1060 later, which CS 6 doesn't support. So I decided to upgrade it to CC 2017 version.

It was fun, The editing process if smooth, playback as well. cause I can use my Cuda core to render and playback now. The respond after adding effect is super smooth.

But the nightmare starts when I Render my Video on Adobe Media Encoder CC 2017 V11.0.
For H.264 and H.265 format it always crash, almost 100%. It rendering and preview normally then suddenly it hang, and the screen freeze, gotta restart the pc.

I have made a lot of research on google. been tried :
1. changed the memory setting from performance to memory
2. Set 3gb space for system.
3. clear cache
4. Set it to mercury software

however, it is still the same. I have no problem export in other format like quicktime or avi etc...only happened on H.264

So am looking for someone that solved this problem to shed some light on me.

CPU : AMD 8320e
GPU : Gtx 1060
Ram : 8Gb ddr3
Mobo : Asrock N68C
PSU : 600W
OS : Win 7 64bit professional

instead of trying render on Adobe Media Encoder for H.264, did u tried the quick rendering (under Export > Media?) instead? It happened to me same like urs last time.

Yes. I did try to export in premiere pro itself. same thing too, it freeze screen 100%, sometimes earlier, sometimes later...


I then try to export in other format to get a acceptable quality with not too big file size.
I tried Quicktime H.264, the outcome is very ugly, can see the pixel line by line... @.@

Still trying to figure out how to solve the problem, but with no result.
I am considering change to other format too, do you have any format to introduce that can get better quality with acceptable file size?

any other format such as Youtube 1080p format? did ur source file frame rate match output?

I have no idea, LoL.
I did changed the Preset to cineform and NTSC Dv before, but then in the end changed to Custom.
And the Video Codec set to H.264.

The Original file size was 57.5Mb, after export QuickTime/H.264, file size become 164Mb. But quality become ugly....lol...really sweat man

After that I delete the preferences in my document folder. Then render back to Quicktime/H.264, the quality back to normal again. But Mov file cons is the file became so giant. It is almost 7 times larger than the original mp4 file. without doing any color grading and effect .... @.@

I can't use .Mov in long term I think, the file size is a cons to me

Good, if you manage to convert into .Mov, therefore is working. Quick solution, turn into .Mov den use other software to convert into mp4 or using Premiere Pro to convert into mp4 again. (You will lost a bit quality, not noticeable).

Yes Bro. I think that is the only way so far.
Been try to import mov again to convert into mp4 out, whenever relate to mp4 format, it 100% crash and freeze screen.
So far H.264 & blue ray, H.265 all got this problem...

It can be my GPU problem, since adobe official sit still didn't mention it support this GPU yet. But my play back during edit is super smooth. And for my case only mp4 format affected. it looks like more to a software problem...
