 About to purchase macbook pro, Some doubts

Guys, can we upgrade the ram ourselves outside of machine ? Any specific brand needed ? How about the ssd ?

From a certain year onwards (2011 I think), all of the RAM modules have been soldered onto the logic board hence they can't be replaced. This is how Apple makes a thinner design on their laptops. So if you are going to purchase a more recent MacBook, you can't swap out the RAM. It started with the MacBook Air.

not the touch ID model but the earlier version.

Also the same, all of the RAM are soldered on so you can't upgrade the RAM. Refer to the link below for reference
