 Where to get "Chinese Restaurant" tea?

What is the tea that is served by the pot in Chinese restaurants called, and where do I get it? thanks smile.gif

FYI, there are various type of chinese tea.
common in chinese restaurant is
-bou lei
-gok bou (bou lei with gok fa aka Chrysanthemum)
-tit gun yum
-cha wong
etc

price may vary depends on quality of the tea, same name but got diff taste if from diff place shakehead.gif

I mean the cheap tea that they use for free-flow in the Chinese restaurant.. you know if you go for a wedding dinner, they always serve that tea, it's brown and must be cheap, because there's free flow and they keep refilling your glass? that tea.

I've seen the purple cane website, they can't be serving that tea free flow because they'd go bankrupt, it's free and people drink a lot of it smile.gif

u can try "bou lei" chinese name is 普洱. some of the shop they use powder to make the tea.

this is the english name: Pu Erh

Yea I think I've seen it once.. comes in tins, and inside there's paper wrapped blocks of tea. Hopefully someone knows a supplier of it smile.gif

The ciplak tea those kopi tiam uses is sui sin in cantonese. It is the cheapest tea. Available at pasar borong in bulk

Liu Bao Tea. This is the tea served in all kopitiam. Usually ppl add ice and it became shuet cha. 1KG cost about RM5. Easily can get at all chinese medicine shop.

cina teh ais is called liu bao (六堡). can get in any tea shop. HOWEVER, liu bao has ripe and raw. suggest u get 100g each and try it yourself.

if KL area, go petaling street. plenty of tea shops there. PM me for details.
