Guys, I'm on VIP10 with RM149 per month(exclude GST). Not bound to any contract.

Do I entitle for the FOC speed upgrade? If so, do I need to call TM or walk into their branch to register?

Guys, for those who get the RM159 for Unifi 30mb, just wanna know this price is for lifetime or just 24 months?

Is there any T&C in order to get this price, eg must bundle with Jumbo Pack & Call Package(unlimited calls)??

Guys, just to inform that I've just call 100 to ask for the RM159 Unifi30 promo.

I just upgraded via the phone, from VIP10 to Adv30 for RM159(exclude GST) with Jumbo Pack & Std20(call plan - 1st 600min FOC to all number include mobile).

Only thing that my line is not entitle for the free upgrade from 30 to 50 because previously I got FOC upgrade from VIP5 to VIP10.

RM159 includes 1st 600 minutes FOC calls? or need add additional?
*
Yup, 1st 600 min calls are FOC(fixed & mobile), after 600min each min is 10cent, 60sec per block, for mobile number. Fixed lines remain FOC.

Previously my VIP 10 gives unlimited call to fixed lines only.

What about from VIP5 to Advance30?
My VIP5 is just 8 months into the contract.
*
Not sure about this, according to TM staff, this promo is for selected customers only. However u can call 100 to try your luck.

Btw, how come u still can get VIP5? I thought it was discontinue quite some time ago?

Guys, is there any wifi extender recommendation? I'm staying in a double storey, lately seem like the wifi reception for the rooms on the 2nd floor is kinda weak.

Is there any cons for using wifi extender?

The cons of using repeaters (extenders) is, it halves your wireless bandwidth compared with AP.

My suggestion is, Dlink DAP1360 (My younger brother use this) and Asus RT-N12D1 (currently I just switch from repeater to AP mode). TP Link brand also quite okay if you concern on the budget.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm not expert in wireless/networking, but currently I'm using Asus RT-N14UHP. The box shows Range Extender. So is there some setting for me to extend the wifi signal?

It will work on 3 phase but if the sockets are on different phase, it will have great performance hit.
*
So if 3phase, is advisable to use wifi extender instead of homeplug...?

Forget about those wifi extender or repeater, just get the home plug.

My house is 3 phases, I am using home plug, no issues at all.
*
Mind to share what brand of the homeplug you are using? Do u connect those homeplug into same phase of power socket?

QUOTE(westlife @ Dec 27 2016, 12:46 PM)
my ping test does not show difference while connecting directly to wifi router and connecting via home plug wifi.

TP-link one has decent price with good performance.

Single band 2.4Ghz about rm180++ to rm255 for 300Mbps speed
Dual band 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz is close to rm300 for 300Mbps speed also.

802.11ac one can be price around min rm400 and above.
*
My router is a single band, if I use dual band home plug, will I able to get 2.4ghz & 5ghz?

QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Dec 27 2016, 05:47 PM)
Update to my unstable connection after installation on Saturday. Sunday onwards, everything is slick and good.
*
Mind to share what did you do to stable the connection?

My router is 2.4ghz, single band only.

But I put the setting to auto 20/40mhz...

Does it make any different in stability?
