I just got a call from TM Telemarketer today mention that I got an offer of RM159 for 30MB and RM169 for 50MB(after next year upgrade), both not include GST. I am currently having 10MB after an free upgrade couple of months back from 5MB. They mention no contract also but need to pay extra RM10/month to get from 10 to 30MB. Also, all call from the fix line will be 0.20/min and they do give extra 1 year warranty for those equipment.. Is it a good offer as I am suppose to get back to them by tomorrow morning if I accept the offer or should I just wait for something free to be happening early next year?

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Dec 28 2016, 01:11 PM) Well.. I am currently paying around RM158/month and if additional RM10/month to get 2x current speed as compare to additional RM20/month for 4x speed.. would think perhaps 30MBps will be good enough..Anyway, this is just RM10 cheaper than the current plan but without any contract beside the differences on no free call to fix line which I guess rarely use nowadays. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 28 2016, 02:11 PM) The 50Mbps of RM 169 is for next year upgrade which is uncertain yet, TM can promise everything. If I upgrade to 30MB and next year wont be able to get 50MB free upgrade but RM169 include GST. if I opt for 50MB which will be effectively free upgrade by early Jan, then will be RM179 include GST.So, I supposed it is RM 169 for 30Mbps now until next upgrade to 50Mbps? |

QUOTE(westlife @ Dec 28 2016, 04:38 PM) I received missed calls from this no +60326015000 3 times but I did not managed to answer it. Just now I called back this no. The person answered said it is from TM. She said it should be marketing department tried to call me on promotion such as upgrade. I received their call from the same number also.. but I told her that I need to discuss with my wife so she will call me back tomorrow.. guess will go with the 30MB which not entitle for 50MB upgrade unless I sign out for the RM169 package instead of the RM159 package both exclude GST. So compare to what I got now which is 10MB with RM10 to upgrade to 30MB guess should be good enough oledy.. What she told me is that, no contract, free channel as those 30MB package(think include 2 extra Mandarin package or something but I never turn the unit on for years). All equipment will come with additional 1 year warranty. My two unifi lines one is activated on 27 nov 2016, the other one is on 6 dec 2016. Both rm179. I am surprised that tm so fast has something to offer me? Just wondering is the previous VIP5 equipment able to support that 30MB speed? If not, then whats the point to upgrade? My equipment think has over 5 years or more? Weak points are now all call to fix or mobile will be charge at RM0.20/min beside the extra RM10/month. |

QUOTE(westlife @ Dec 29 2016, 02:25 PM) likely that they want to expedite the orders due to the promotion as the promotion is stated to end on 31 Dec 2016 and since new customers, they will be more than willing to accept also. trust me, their online application has never been so efficient. I had just done two installation on 27 Nov 2016 and 06 Dec 2016 via online application. the waiting time is long for both application and installation. May I know your offer package? Is it RM179 exclude GST and does it come with free selection of movie package either Mandarin, Malay or English package. I got the call from their telemarketer an hour ago and ask for some clarification. Apparently, seen like the offer of RM159 exclude GST for 30MB is only entitle for English + Sport Jumbo package beside no free fix line call. She confirm no contract but wont be able to go back to VIP10 and only thing if not happy is just to terminate their service. If go with RM169 exclude GST, they will give selection of either English/Mandarin/Malay package and line will be upgraded to 50MB by within Jan so will be start with 30MB for couple of weeks.therefore, it is really good for u and u make it on time for the free upgrade WiFi router - TP-Link Archer C5 AC1200 (both my installations are given this one - so far so good, no complaint, only thing that can be complaint is probably the fact that it does not support VLAN tagging on WiFi, so it is not possible to make use of guess SSID for HyppTV wireless, die die must go via wired only) one more possible option is the D-Link DIR-850L AC1200. can do vlan taggin on wifi. so can use hypptv over wifi natively. ONU - Alcatel-Lucent-I240G (my house one is given this, my parent house's one i am not sure, never check), in any case, brand wise will be either this one or huawei one, i think most ppl are given huawei one) HyppTV set up box - there is only one model is given now which is Huawei EC6108V8. She also told me that the offer to me now is the same as those RM179 user only different is my is cheaper by RM10 as loyalty customer blah blah blah.. is it true? I am planning to go to Mid Valley for the sort of PC fair and certainly sure that TM will be there.. maybe good to ask for more detail as perhaps they got better offer? Didn't really watch any TV as the setop box was off for more than few years as limited content on free channel. Is it worth to go with the 50MB or 30MB? |

Anyway, if you want to get the Ruby package, you will need to get the RM169 package which what they said is they will activate 50MB within Jan.

QUOTE(VeeJay @ Jan 4 2017, 09:21 AM) TM would not bother about wifi connection, its held as user responsibilities, since there are many variables and very subjective. As long as you can get more than 24Mbps on LAN, they will close the case. I am still using the original D-Link Unifi router since I got it from my VIP5 few years back.. not sure what need to be done in order to get the same 30mbps on wifi.. did walk next to the router but also the same.. Whats the router you are using? Have you checked if there is any interference on your wifi channels? I would suggest to download "wifi analyzer" on your cellphone and try checking from there on the best channel available. Will try the wifi analyzer tonight perhaps.. |

QUOTE(sixshot @ Jan 5 2017, 08:28 PM) this lol. every now and then, i still see people complaining TM stock router is not good enough/total crap, rubbish etc. I had been using the same router for years since I signed up for VIP5 but now after upgraded to 30Mbps, I can only get 15-20mbps wifi connection even though the LAN line is able to achieve 30mbps.. Friend told me that TM told him this is the limitation of the router but not sure as he is stay in a condominium but I am staying in terrace house.. i've been using unifi for more than 5 years now, been using the stock router d-link 615(orange/white one) since the very beginning. throughout this period, i never had any problem at all with my router lol, be it wired/wireless connection. everything works just fine be it in gaming/browsing/video/torrent. it really puzzled me when i read the forum and lots of people complaining about the router quality. just what the heck did u guys do lol. Will find way to solve this problem.. if this is really the case then wont really benefit from the 30mbps upgrade even though just anohter RM10+ |

QUOTE(cucubud @ Jan 6 2017, 09:01 AM) After your upgrade to Advance30, did TM renew your contract? There isn't any contract but they extend 1 year warranty after I upgraded to 30mbps.. anyway, heard from friend who had complaint this to TM but they wont replace it as the LAN is capable to achieve 30mbps as what few other forumer were mentioning.. If YES, are the equipment also have their warranty extend for another year? If also YES, then might as well report and make a claim. Since I am staying in landed properties, is there a way to change some of this setting in the existing router to make it work for 30mbps? |

What they mention is no contract as per their email T&C so I can cancel anything without any penalty.. Anyway, there isn't a way to downgrade so pretty much I just pay extra RM10/month for this |

QUOTE(marcus_bread @ Jan 6 2017, 11:09 AM) better check with TM on ur contract period. cause im caught in same situation with u. Is it?? I got their feedback as per below as it does mention "No contract Extension" meaning no contract and I also got confirmation from their customer service mentioning I can terminate anytime without any charges first i was being offer for the same package as u (i.e. add Rm10, get 30mpbs + free jumbo + free 1 year warranty on equipment + no renew of contract) but when i request to replace my faulty router then only get to know that my contract being renew for 2 years. now i have lodged a report n waiting for their investigation (might be the marketing ppl purposely give wrong info on the renewal of contract period to deceive us to take up the offer). QUOTE(mylinear @ Jan 7 2017, 07:46 PM) I didn't know they give so many upgrade offer choices to users. You must be special? Or they must really want to move lower paying user to higher paying packages? For option 2 they also offer the user a selection to choose Ruby package instead of the standard English Jumbo pack.. anyway, didnt watch much on those channel..No 2 and 4 sounds like the current promo, but you get it at RM10 less than others? RM169 for 50M and RM219 for 100M when free upgrade is done. Wonder what the difference between your package and the current promo for the RM10 difference? If no difference, surely users who take up the promo are going to start complaining? |

QUOTE(klavgjoe @ Jan 11 2017, 03:26 PM) just upgraded VIP10 to VIP30.. top up 10 bucks.. = MYR159 You sure you are back in 24 months contract? Cause I got black and white email from TM(VADS) who push me for upgrade mentioning as per below:-the catch is 2 year contract which is fine cause dont think TIME will come landed residential area anyway... but i wan to get tm to replace my equipment (modem n router and STB) since its been 3 years ++ now.. how ah? they say only if confirm faulty only they replace Good day. J The terms that you highlight is for those customer who still under contract period. In your case, no penalty charges entitled due to your Unifi account is currently out of contract. Sorry for the late reply. So it should not have any contract and I can terminate the line anytime I like but guess for now, no other better value package compare to this one yet.. so just use it.. Anyway how, you will found that your old router unable to support 30mbps as max I can only get around 20 through wifi.. but certainly you can get 30mbps with connection through the LAN port.. Still need to find some free time to "Damage" the router and STB before I call to TM to ask for replacement. |

QUOTE(westlife @ Jan 12 2017, 09:29 AM) what is the completed text? from the two lines above, it does not mentioned anything about no 24 months contract will be tie to a upgrade of plan. Cause I wrote an email personally to this sales lady and ask for an B&W email confirmation from her as that I am not in any contract as I am out of contract for years.. Will keep this email perhaps in the near future whenever there is any better package or from Times which I might want to cancel the current package..but instead it just mention about termination that if one is under contract, there will be penalty for termination while one who is not will not get any penalty. isn't it will be easier to just check directly with TM online chat or tm email to ask a simple question that if u unifi line is currently under any contract since it has now been upgraded? Anyway, got another call from Maxis also on yesterday but really stupid package beside they are using Unifi backbone to provide their internet service to us and changing higher fee with only good thing on free unlimited calls to all mobile and fix line.. plus replacing the router, chromacast, wifi repeater etc.. |

QUOTE(NickShark @ Jan 12 2017, 09:59 AM) After i pm calk yesterday then once again i called tm cs to ask about my contract and i'm asking them to transfer to the telemarketer lady that offer me this 30mb ugrd but they said they cant transfer to her coz she at "other" marketing dept, and yes again i get the same answer "ALL" upgrade done thru telemarketers will extend with 24 month contract, dam this contract thing make me headache only and and already report this matter with them on last monday and they said will investigate and ask that lady calling me back regarding to this case in 3 to 5 working days,in the meantime, just can wait for their call only . I got her supervisor email which when she ask me to sign up and I am requesting her to provide the the detail T&C which her supervisor did. So after the upgrade and seeing some thread from here then I drop few email to her supervisor and he called me back to understand what is my concern, then I told him to give me a written confirmation that my current upgrade does not carry any contract and he said yes and will get her gal to get back to me.. then a few moment later, the lady send me a confirmation mentioning that the package is without any contract as my contract has over more than years..Those people are from VADS which is TM subsidiary if I am not mistaken.. |
