directed to here from kopitiam:

Just received a call from Unifi to upgrade my current plan.

Initially subscribed to 5mpbs, but later they upgraded for free to 10mbps few months back.

Now asking me to upgrade to 30mbps for additional RM10 only.

Anyone received similar call? Worth upgrading since the budget says double the speed, half the price next year...  hmm.gif

My situation is same as you, get the call on Thursday to upgrade to 30Mbps, free call to TM line taken away and given Hypp TV Jumbo pack for free. Do you get similar offers(on phone and TV channels).

As for further upgrade - I asked and was told those on VIP5 and got upgraded to 10Mbps for free (without new contract) earlier this year will not get further speed upgrade next year,

I believe it's the same offer.

I have a feeling the price cut will happen. Those with 5mbps/10mbps currently will get price reduction. 30mbps will get new price somewhere around RM149.

What will be the cheapest/most economical router available now (plug and play as no setting is required) to replace the existing router provided by TM? Just got free upgrade from 5Mbps to 10Mbps few months ago and the downloading is damn slow.

Shopkeeper told my sister in law that they need to do setting at the shop even it is UNIFI certified. Is that true?

they need your ppoe username and password. I think you can do by your own. Here is the tutorial video for you. Do not let the third person do the set up for you for safety reasons.

Regarding the Unifi account password, can we change ourself after installation, or have to set when the technician is setting up?

may be by end of 2017 or 2018 our RM149 package is 30mbps.

Sometimes I don't know what TM is thinking.

Just give free upgrade to those RM149 to 20-25mbps., why bother so many complex pricing package, RM159,169, 179, 199 lol

IMO Unifi should be something like this already

RM149 = 25mbps
RM199 = 50mbps
RM249-279 = 100mbps

You mean the long password that used to login to UniFi account, used for router settings?
I thought that can't be changed? unsure.gif

I meant the UniFi service password, we cannot change it. In case, we forgot we will call TM to retrieve it. However, if using stock router can easily retrieve it. I have kept one well and can be retrieved anytime if I change router.

OCC UniFi password can easily change at OCC.

Ah, thanks

I was referring to that password for the service. I guess no security concern if not change the default password. unsure.gif
