Hi all,

I missed a lot of posts before here, so please forgive me if this had been answered before...  notworthy.gif

I stay in a condo and using copper wire, currently with ADV30 package, does that mean I am not eligible for the upgrade to 50Mbps later this year? (because I saw someone posted here last time, saying high rise building with copper wire can't support 50Mbps?)

Thanks in advanced.  smile.gif

it depends on how 'old' is the copper in your building. If the quality is good, 50mbps is still achievable. But definitely not 100mbps

That being said, customers that register their UniFi account under this promo will only receive their 100Mbps (or 50Mbps if they choose to sign up for 30Mbps plan) upgrade starting from April 2017 instead of January 2017 as pointed by the promo’s TnC document. Oh well.

meaning for those who register during december promotion will get the upgrade from april 2017 right? users that register earlier than promo period will get starting january 2017?

any solution for these? afaik one day copper will get old, and that time every one who lived in high rise will stuck at 1mbs if condition get worsened lol

Got an offer last year by adding rm10 to my current VIP5 which will give me VIP10 + Ruby pack for rm159 exclude GST. But when they perform the upgrade, speed do increase from 5 to 10mbps but for Hypptv package, I got Aneka instead. Make a complaint on this and they said "base on" the recording, the agent never mention Ruby pack at all. Beware on this as when we are talking to them, they will not record the conversation. But will record when they are reading the T&C on a very fast pace and you don't really have a chance to say no.
*
Erm. People are paying RM 159 for 30Mbps now but will not be upgraded to 50Mbps later.
Also I thought Aneka, Varnam and Ruby are having same price now? unsure.gif So it doesn't matter anymore, they should be able to change it. hmm.gif

it will take a few decade for copper to get that 'old' and for quality deteriorate significantly. Maybe by that time, hopefully TM will replace them with fiber

Some more Fiber is so damn expansive than cooper, so normally they won't invest large sum amount of it.

if TM willing to re-wire the high rise for you, you think building management will say no?

of course now TM won't do la. But who knows 10-20 years down the road, fiber cost might be even cheaper than copper? laugh.gif

I think that should not be that hard if Time can provide service in fiber, then TM should be able to do it as well. smile.gif

Got rip-off by the Unifi installer, charged me RM500 for over the roof installation.
RM300 for over the roof installation as the line comes from rear goes over the roof and come to the front living room.
RM200 (initially RM380 before nego) for the RJ45 cable they lay from router to tv (about 10-15feet) and another RJ45 from living room to top floor bed room.

They seems to use very low quality cables and very lousy workmanship.. Didn't thought much about it cause was very tired..

Lesson learned

Hi guys, i have a quick question regarding unifi, sorry if i asked in a wrong section.

I just had my unifi installed yesterday. 30mbps.
All my devices run smoothly and having a constant connection speed except for one! My smartphone.

I did run speedtest and both my laptop and phone, both show 30mbps download speed. However, my phone sometime takes a while to load even a single web page. Buffering youtube video does fine, but it takes a while to load the video list.

I had this issue before with my laptop in my previous house, but that has been fixed after i changed the IP address and dns manually. But this does not seem working for my phone. sad.gif

Any help sifus!
