PBB customer service staff told me before that contactless payment is limited to 3 consecutive transactions a day, after which pin is required. This may be true for wave, for security purposes, but samsung pay? If we use the MST instead of NFC, does that still apply? I wonder...

I have got the "Do Not Honor" on the card machine before. It wasn't because that I exceed the limit or there is insufficient fund. I called PBB and they did not detect any transaction at their end. It could be that the merchant's connection is not stable. I went on to Dal.komm Coffee and used Samsung Pay, no problem.

Maybe next time you can try to tap your phone on their panel too (the same place they would swipe your physical card). I have experienced that where the merchant asked me to tap on his panel.

In Seoul, I didn't see them using a credit card machine like ours. Instead they tapped my phone on their panel and receipt was printed. Easy and convenient.

Here in Malaysia, for payment with samsung pay, we still have to tap on the credit card machine. But some merchants will still ask to swipe a physical card onto their system for record, for example Starbucks. So maybe we can try tapping our phone instead.

The last time I wanted to reload my Starbucks card, the staff didn't want to let me use Samsung Pay because he said that he needed the physical card to swipe onto his system. But Starbucks is one of the listed merchants. He said his card machine can use spay but then because he needed to swipe the card at his system, I could only use a physical card. He insisted. I had no choice but to pass him my card to be swiped at his system. Then onto the credit card machine, somehow that day the machine just didn't want to read my card . So I took the opportunity to ask to try spay. He reluctantly agreed. Told him it's the same card anyway.

Since then I haven't tried again at Starbucks. The next time I would ask him to try tapping my phone on his system and see if it works. Technically, it should work. Anyway, it worked on one cafe I have been to.

The funny thing is that there is no record with the bank that there is such a transaction or else they can unblock it for me. So nothing can be done there.

Right. I encountered the same thing. Also PBB no wave machine, and it couldn't detect my phone. The page on the machine just exited and shows "hostnumber****" with some numbers there. Another place I went uses an old PBB wave machine. Machine beeped when I tap my phone but on the machine screen it showed to call centre.

Did a transaction on PBB terminal without wave. I tapped my phone on the side of the machine, using MST. Usually when the machine detects our device, the screen will show that it is connecting. However, this machine is a little different, it came to a screen with my digital card number and expiry date on it. At first I thought it failed as the screen showed the PBB logo like what you see on the homepage. Then only realised it was my card details below it and I had to press the ok button to continue. Then once the Ok button is pressed, it started to connect. So it's a success in one trial.

How do we get CVV2?

When we added the credit card to spay, we were already asked to put in cvv right? So this is just a double security?

They have also removed the 5 minutes interval for points collection.

What's the limit for PBB card anyway? 9 consecutive swipes a day? That will refresh the next day? Any limit on the amount per transaction or the total amount?

Do you mind sharing the procedure? What I previously understand is that for credit card physical card payment, they will ask to hold my card at the counter, and upon completion of pumping, then go back to the counter and complete the payment.

So for spay, how does it work?

So does it mean you have to go to the cashier to tap before you pump, then go back to the cashier again after you pump and tap your phone again?

Visa paywave can be used at ERL Stations. Just tap the card upon entrance and upon exit at the barrier gate. So I was wondering, will this work for Samsung Pay? It will be so cool to be able to just tap our phone in and out.

So what happened when the machine can't sense it? Let's say I manage to get in, but then upon exit phone can't be detected.... then how?
