most cashier refused to try, because they scare fraud case... i've been rejected many time during the last contest period...
*
If I were you, I will not be friendly to the cashier in your case. I told off a few cashiers, what I say was: "Pass me the card machine since you don't know how to do your job properly." I did what need to be done and the transaction went through so that shut the cashier up good and I feel really good after that.

I'm quite confuse that some cashier told me that a physical card must be insert in order to swipe. Without card, it will not activate the terminal, is that true?
*
He is not wrong, but what the cashier does not know is that they can manually activate the terminal.

What BNM said after July all must be pin
*
But the statement from BNM applies to transactions made with a physical card, not digital cards/ tokens. Since Samsung Pay is not a physical card then it would take the bank to reconfigure Samsung Pay for PIN transactions instead of signature.

Today encountered unsuccessful SPay at my usual car polish place. 1st time wanna try this SPay at this place.

The terminal looks like non-nfc version. I'm using Citi card.
The uncle not familiar with SPay but he is willing to allow to try it out.

So I asked him to press F2. Then the terminal prompt card number whereby from guide that I download from this page mentioned time to key-in the value.
Because the terminal asked for card, thus I tap at terminal right side, it received and then only asked to key-in payment value.
Terminal prompt asking either Debit or Credit, select Credit.
It asked again either the number correct or not. The number match wish SPay digital card number. He pressed confirm, then after awhile terminal prompt unable to honor it. Tried 3x, produced same results. Gave up. And pay using physical card (same card)

I'm wondering what went wrong here. Any input?

So far I never encountered issue with NFC enable terminal except stupid Uniqlo outlet which do not allow to pay using SPay. They even not allowed to pay using CIMBPay. Complaint to their official FB page, they claimed that's their policy and I sarcastically tease their orthodox approach.

I'm very amused to find you using an instruction which I created, but feel free to use it.

most of the time is i teach the cashier (even with so called Samsung Pay "affiliated" merchant). so far haven't encounter the type of cashier of yours.

most of them is shocked, exited and gladly accept the last 4 digital number lol~
*
you said "exited", you mean keluar? I'm not a troll but your sentence confuses me.

For my case when cashiers asked for the 16 digit card number, I used this website Credit Card Checker to manually create a valid card number and then use the number and verbally announce it for the cashier to enter it into the POS machine.

It's a hassle, but you can manually create it yourself.

Example, Digital Card Number "0196", then I use my debit card number and check one single digit one by one on the website till it says valid.

My fake card number 4848 1000 5702 "0196"

does it apply to physical card also? or only pay wave??
lol...your method create hassle for your self, just ask them to activate the credit terminal 1 more time at 0.01.....scan but don't press enter and refer there.

else, if you have 2nd phone, just download credit card reader, activate samsung pay and scan it.
*
the 2nd phone method, I have already discovered it long time ago. Also, you're right that I created a hastle myself but I don't mind the trouble

Those common places I just take out my phone they immediately know what I want to do only those traditional machine the staff are not trained.

I only tried bhp and I get card error does Samsung pay works on petrol station in general.
*
I successfully used Samsung Pay in Caltex, the funny thing is that the card machine prompted for both PIN & Signature. I did both.

Also, if you are a Petronas customer then they have officially announced support for Samsung Pay. They cannot say no anymore.

Have any success using loyalty card on Samsung pay?
*
You can't use the loyalty card on the pump itself, you have to go to the cashier and scan the barcode there.

I need to inform this as I just remembered this, the scan Samsung Pay on the 2nd phone method although it works but if you take that card number and put it on the card validator websites and the result WILL be that the card number is invalid. You can try it since you know the method yourself.

Do not honor mostly mean over the limit.

Maybank have daily cumulative limit of RM250

Next time try 249 or make sure your continuous daily transaction does not go over RM250

You could double confirm by calling bank and ask them why this transaction is not honoured, bank is aware of this transaction
*
I just wanna share this, he mentioned that he can't pay RM 250 or greater at Focus Point. But I have my doubts and I think it's actually a problem with Citibank because I paid more than RM 500+ for my car maintenance via Samsung Pay and it went through using (NFC) and also I always used MST at McDonalds and the receipt will show "Swipe Entry" and I was prompted to sign, but ever since July 1st (PIN and Pay Enforcement) I think that Citibank hasn't configure their systems to proceed with MST hence "Do Not Honor" which happened to me at McDonalds.

I don't know if Focus Point staff confused or what.
They told me that using MST, there'll a limit of RM 250 but there's no limit if using Wave/NFC.
However, I couldn't try Wave as their MBB terminal is not configured to support Wave.
I also asked if their other terminals support Wave too. None of them does.

P/S: They have 3 terminals on the table facing customer. sweat.gif
One terminal is meant for CIMB Pay from CIMB. One terminal is meant for Samsung Pay from MBB.
*
Well, it's not wrong as in the Citibank FAQ for Samsung Pay it does state that there's a RM 250 limit for MST.

Citibank is my prime card for Samsung Pay.
95% of my transactions done using Wave; even at McD/Guardian/Watson.
*
I don't understand the banks in Malaysia as why can't they let us use the full credit limit, in Thailand & Singapore you have full access to your card credit limit via MST and they only cap NFC limits

In Singapore mc Donald's, they actually block MST transaction at the ordering terminal, stating invalid payment.

Did you use a Singaporean card or a Malaysian card?

Now no point use SPay jor. Most of the good promos are over. I guess they used up their budget liao. Previously S7Edge, Gear Icon X and 10k PB. Now only phone case, getting cheaper the prizes.

You're right in a way that Samsung Malaysia isn't doing much to attract more and more users to use Samsung Pay, but what you should think of is security and convenience. In the sense that you only need to carry your phone to pay and if your phone is lost or stolen then Samsung Pay is useless to the thief because they don't have the PIN or even fingerprint to unlock the phone.

Samsung Pay users in US gets more rewards because they get reward points per transaction.

Just wondering that has anyone tried adding foreign cards onto Malaysian sets or Malaysian cards onto foreign handsets. I tried adding a supported card from a bank in China but on my Malaysian handset, Samsung Pay can only allow 16 digits compared to the Unionpay card that I have which has 19 digits.

You could use the app provided from CIMB themselves for CIMB Debit Card, but CIMB Pay can't be used anywhere like Samsung Pay via MST.
