I am moving to KL next month. I was looking at purchasing a Xbox premium here (US) and bringing it with me. Would I be better off buying one in KL when I arrive? I know if i buy one in the US, I would need either a transformer or a new power supply for it to work in KL. The Premium in the US costs ~$370-$400 USD. I assume a new power supply in KL would cost ~$50USD. What's the cost if I buy one there (or in Singapore)? I also know that some games are region locked but can I US enabled games if I bring a system with me or would I be better off just to buy the system once I get there?

Thanks!

For the U/S Machine. Indeed you have to use a Stepdown Voltage REgulator for your xbox 360 (110v) And all your games will be based on NTSC/UC.

SG units are from RM 1,400 - RM 1,700 depends on what package you go for.

Currently The normal ones are Core Package, Premium Pack, Holiday Bundle Pack v1 and Holiday Bundle Pack v2.

Are you a local here ? if you are , is still best to purchase an Asia Unit.

us games can only be played on us consoles. unless its already stated region free. i think u'd be better off buying asian console. coz games are cheaper, and ur electricity bills wont cost a bomb, because of the step-down transformer.

edit: PLUS u can buy from kuli man djinn brows.gif ^^ the guy who posted b4 me

Not a local but will be living in KL for the next few years... I assume there will be a better console system by the time I move elsewhere so I'm looking at what I need while in KL. Any suggestions on where to buy? I'll be traveling quite a bit and I assume the cheapest would be in Singapore Duty Free...

since you moving to kl then you should grab an asian set. you can easily buy any asian games here.

but if you buy a US set then you'll end up as agent ethan hawk in mission impossible looking for NTSC/UC games here in kl!

Think about the games. Most shops here in KL sell asian NTSC/J games.

Unless you're an online shopper, then i think it wont be a big problem for you

Would be best that u by in KL with regards to the warranty for the xbox 360. Gamer's Hideout offer a 1 to 1 exchange for the 1st 3 months which is to me a superb deal and probably the only one in KL offering this warranty (you can PM Djinn for the price). Not unless, you go S'pore often, buying from S'pore Airport means you will have to bring your unit back to S'pore for the warranty. IMHO, the 5% GST rebate is not worth the headache.
