For a C-segment car NVH of Mazda 3 is fair. Engine noise and wind noise are very suppressed even at high speed. Most of the noise comes from road noise and this is due to the Toyo performance tyres. You can improve this if you change to quieter tyres after your first set has worn out. The noise also depends very much on the road surface.

NVH is subjective as it depends on your sensitivity so test drive and compare with other C-segment cars. The 18" rims of the HS are also partly to blame. If you go for the GL with 16" rims road noise will be less.

Engine noise is good, however wind noise suppression isn't that good.. civic much better.. I would rather say the Mazda 3 road noise came most from car structure itself.. is like they are air vibrations inside the hollow chassis.. I changed my stock 18" to quieter Tyre.. still the road noise is there.. I even did two layers sounds proofing on fenders, door, roof n rear boot.. next need to do floor sound proofing.. although road noise is much better after that but still below civic nvh.. buyer who concerns about m3 road noise better Go for a test drive.. if u can accept it like me.. then this driving machine gonna put a smile on your face every time u drive it...

Cheers

Well, pretty easy.

If you want a fun car to drive, it's gotta be the M3. If you want a comfort car with boring CVT, then it is the Civic.

It can be analysed into more detail if you want to.

Manual transmission = hardcore / real men
DSG/DCT/6, 7 or 8 speed transmission = men
CVT transmission = ladies and sissies

why delete?

anyway back to topic, if you have abit more money just buy mazda 3 HS and just forget about civic turbo. Turbo in long run the performance will drop and maintenance is high. As people already said there is no replacement for displacement. Read on Civic owner forum you will know that civic build quality is questionable, exterior may look awesome but interior is not. Mazda 3 with proper auto gear vs civic cvt is obviously Mazda 3 is a better car.

Those in budget can opt on whichever variant that suited you. Also bear in mind, civic height has been hunkered down to look like a sport car. People might not be comfortable going down to get in the car, every single time. Civic however has excellent space. Test drive a few times before you dp any car.

If u do take care small parts of resale value..... Then try search mazda 3 cbu or ckd 2nd hand value. It kinda sad even it drove very well, 6 auto gear, built quality etc. I kinda hate those small looking tachometer on mazda 3.
In meantime, there are lots of Civic fb on our road as oppose newly registered mazda 3

I think you have problem with your eyesight or have English comprehension problems. Only those on CVT transmission are ladies and sissies. Those on non-CVTs (6-speed onwards or DSG/DCT) are still men.

M3 has more drivability than 1.5 turbo
Unless it's 2.0 and vs 2.0 turbo then obviously it's much more fun in turbo...1.5 turbo ain't gonna get super fast but on wear n tear yes

Evening brother u mean the civic 1.5 turbo engine is slow n won't last?

Funny... I too am having a dilemma between the Civic TC-P and the highest spec M3 hatchback. The Mazda website has a price sheet but didn't really specify what the differences are in terms of equipment for the hatchback variant, anyone knows?
