if under load, then yes.

if idle, u got a problem

lowering temp?

cooling pad (some works some dont, ymmv)
play in a/c ed room

since your laptop is quite old, u can try cleaning up the heatsink, reapply better thermal compound

For laptop the maximum is 90 degree Celsius before the laptop auto shutdown to prevent hardware damage. Buy a good quality laptop cooler to cool down your laptop.

1. did you re-apply new thermal paste?
2. did you run any program while playing games?
3. is your laptop fun working?
4. when is the last time you cleaning up your laptop ventilation part?
