Want to ask about reliability...

DEH 4950 vs DEH 5950. Not about spec.

But which one has a more lasting and less problem encounter.

Direct slot in or Flap slot?

I know 5950 flap slot is cool looking yet wonder will it break off some day or even jammed?

im using the alpine 9833 which has a motorized flap thingy.. can adjust to 3 angle levels somemore which is friggin cool honestly....

but personally....i still prefer direct slot. not so leceh to wait for the faceplate to come down tongue.gif only reason i bought this one was because there werent any Alpine players with direct slot AND black color faceplate at the time that could fit my requirement and budget. this was the best one. so i hentam saja la...and no regrets though thumbup.gif

flap face, the vulnerability is the contact point on the flap face and the main unit. over time the area will oxidise and thus the contact will deteoriate. common problems will be the flap's display wont show up, cannot control the volume, etc.

motorized face - more moving parts but prevents dust from entering the disc slot. cons: usually non detachable.

its basically the choice of users in the end.

btw jimmylim85: feel free to attend a mini ICE TT this Tuesday (20/2/07) @ coffee shop opposite TESCO in Ipoh Garden East, 2PM onwards.
