The other distributor is gamers arena - in case you didn't noticed they have also been aggressively setting up not only new retail stores but full renovated to look like japan base ( check out their sunway outlet and 1u outlet, you will see how they display and setup)

It's not Gamers Arena, it's a company called CTC Game Pro.

I see one inacuracy, the leg transformation should push the torso up, not just slide down with no height adjustment as seen in the transformation in episode 1.

Been using Tamiya panel line accent for a few kits, but not satisfy with the result. Especially the inconsistency of the paint applied on the lines itself. What markers that i can try out ? Didn't like the gm01 and gm02 since the lines are very thick when panel lining the kits. Any sifus here have recommendations for me?
*
GM301, 2 and 3. It's the same as GM01 but it runs thinner.

Ok but you will need to mod to make it unlimited electric powered.
*
Not that hard, just need a 12v adapter, resistor and connector and some soldering. Total cost shouldn't exceed RM10.

Good timing for deepstrike out, just a right time for me to get it during Japan trip next month.  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif

Why would you get it in Japan next month? Save your luggage space for something else, you can already get it locally by then.

Maybe cheaper. I guess. Hehe

I'm advising you from experiences before, especially for big boxes and normal release item, it is not worth it. You might even get taxed at Klia even.

why not? The most standard discount you can get from MOST large retailers in Japan is approximately 20%. Coupled with tax refund and credit card discounts, you're looking at at least 30% off the retail. Of course, this is is assuming the retailers in KL don't mark up. I've not bought anything locally in the past year, but from what I recall, shops here normally sell at a slightly yen rate compared to exchange rate, so even more savings there.

As for tax, I've never had any problems with customs in all my trips, and I transport the kits in large boxes. Officer ask me what's in the box, I tell them Gundam kit. No problems so far..
*
That's why never assume that your experience = everybody else's experience.

In his case, he's planning to buy a normal release, big ass kit and bring it back on the plane during his trip to Japan. Unless his intention to Japan is solely to buy Gunpla, bringing that with other items and luggage, he might end up paying more for check in luggage, and risk being taxed at KLIA.

First time I did that was terribly inconvenient. On second trip, my friend was taxed for a watch that he could get here for relatively the same price. Unless it is for rare or P-Bandai kits, I'm advising him not to do that less he wants the inconvenience and risks to pay more.

Normal release kits are never sold at RRP here anyway and I would say they are still reasonable.

sure. granted if you're flying AirAsia you might have to buy luggage, but otherwise, all other airlines will give you 25kg baggage allowance.

You and your might might have been extremely unlucky with customs. In all my trips, I've always been transparent with what I bring in (watches and Gunpla) and still I go scott free..

Oh well, YMMV..

Hence, I stray from giving advice based on luck smile.gif

Actually bro, you advised him to not buy..

Oh well. This has nothing to do with gunpla, so let's not dwell on this unnecessarily.

Buy or no buy up to individual la smile.gif

I advised him not to buy from Japan, during his supposed trip next month, where the kit will be available locally minus the inconvenience of moving the kit physically and being risked to be taxed upon landing.

Bought this, and depending on how far I can customize this, I might get all of the kits.

Too bad they only produce Gipsy, Obsidian and Bracer for HG
I was hoping for a Gipsy Danger, but that only come out as PlaMax and Chogokin
I bought two gipsy, one normal and one metallic, still wondering which one should i stain it
*
After test building it, I think I'm gonna grab another Gipsy and two Fury. If the kaijus could merge, so do the Jaegers drool.gif

hmm felt like working for a candy color finish on my next kit. So I'm trying to find the most efficient way to achieve this. I bought a cheap pylox (nippon) chromo rattle can and tested on some spoons.

[attachmentid=9698443]

Above spoons are some with slightly different primer. But regardless of the primer, it seems... grainy. Without a mirror chrome finish, would I be able to achieve this kinda result?

Chrome needs to be polished for mirror effect. Straight spray may look smooth, but it is actually uneven.

To get the similar effect in the picture, you should use sparkling silver (higher flake content) and then paint clear red.

Do you have any recommended way to achieve the clear red result? Airbrush the sparkling silver > clear red? I'm thinking spray can the primer > silver and AB the clear red. But spray can silver/chrome seems grainy......unless..

Cheap but acceptable way is the sparkling silver + clear red + gloss. It won't be smooth to the touch but the effect will be similar.

Where do you get sparkling silver? From a spray can?
*
Yes, many brands like Samurai carry this color. It is actually silver with lots of metallic flakes.

Anyone here actually got a PG Phenex? Where you guys order from? Tried Gamers Arena and they say they're not taking orders for the re-issue because apparently the price went nuts, like 3k nuts

Is GKgundamkit.com a reliable site?
*
I thought I saw one PG Phenex at their BTS shop, can't say for sure.
