Hehe to begin with , I had a badaxe revision 0304 and my hands were itchy so I vmodded it and theres part 1 where I blew things up , part 2 where I managed to get some clocks after the rma from intel ( intel was kind ! ) and part 3 where the OC results are biggrin.gif

Part 1 :

After spending 2 weeks vmodding I finally did it smile.gif ...and fried a couple stuff as well but here are the preliminary clocks before I fried it ( no windows testing except in safe mode as my hard disk fried along with the rest )

As for how I blew up my system ( I was in a rush to measure the voltage and forgot to set it to voltage DC instead of the resistance ( Ohms ) which it was currently set to and therefore short circuited the whole thing ( the multimetre apparently survived and the gigabyte motherboard somehow got fried when I was using it to test my system for spoilt parts )

The clocks are here and its up to you to believe at your discretion :

CPU : 3786.62 MHz

FSB : 473.32 MHz

DDR2 SDRAM : 946.65 MHz 4-3-3-8 ( 1:1 ratio )

Multiplier : 533

Bootstrap : 1333

BIOS : 1334

VCore : 1.6V

VDimm : 2.751 ( 2.2 in BIOS )

VMCH : 2.008 ( 1.725 in BIOS )

FSB Voltage : 1.395 in BIOS

Temperatures : below 55 for everything ( rams were especially cool for some reason )

I'll let the pictures do the talking for the rest

btw, how the proc? survived the ordeal?

hehe havent post the results pic...yesterday got dced by mother lol

the proc survived...and yeah haha its maggi mee...my own receipe with eggs smile.gif

hehe that mouse only 30-50 SGD ( MX518 ..quite cheap...in malaysia its expensive ? )

those temps achieved with 2 12cm 90 cfm san ace fans...relatively loud and annoying lol....but gets the job done.....although very dusty !!!

lemme think.... to change multiplier go to advanced in bios ( something like that ) and chipset options ( something like that ) but of course you must unlock the bios to engineering mode....connect the 2 round points next to the CMOS jumper ( should be less than 1 cm away from it... )

then adjust lor....to get 1333 strap set to 1333 strap ...there are options for 1066 / 800 too IIRC but most of this you need to UNLOCK to Engineering mode

lastly...thanks for all the kind comments smile.gif

and finally ... oc pictures ...using 256MB kingston hynix FP-C4 though...most elpidas cant go above 2.3-2.5vdimm so it wont post.....

dont bother about that orthos...for some reason..1-10% OC also like that one

E6400 ( L626A320 ) trust me this batch cant oc for shit...able to post @ 3.6-3.7 ghz but to be orthos stable 3.1-3.2 or so...I need more vcore than 1.6v ( will try and hunt for mods for this ... PENCIL only )

oh btw... intel approved my RMA even after I blew it up to that condition...maybe isopropyl alcohol I wasted was worth it

lastly....

credits : nightraven from vrz for his multimetre and advice and iceflight for his helpful advice

here's some of the possibilities:

1. intel certified overclocker
2. he show all those fried mobo to intel representative
3. blame the mobo low quality
4. the mobo "stop" working for "unknown" reason rolleyes.gif

probably the 4th option smile.gif
