We have recently purchased a house. Loan passed and paid to the owners, remainder money fully paid. All settlement done in lawyer’s office. I have some questions regarding what to do after this.
1) What are some of the things that are often overlooked or not done after purchasing a house?
2) In order to plan for future renovations and stuffs, where do we go or who to look for to know the house layout (the blueprint I suppose, to-scale-drawings)? And who do we asks about the possible renovations that can be done as in will a specific renovation be supported or not?
3) The ceiling of the living room (half the living room actually) is lower than the other. I could touch the fan blade easily with my wrist. Though we could go with just air-cond and forego with the fan, just wondering if there is any way to rectify this? Btw, the house is nice, just few quirks.
4) The automatic gate of the house. Is there any resale value for it? It still functions properly (I’d say about 90%). However, the opening mechanism (opening outwards) doesn’t appeal much to us compared to those sliding automatic gate. Just curious about it.
5) For future, planning on using solar power for certain applications. As I am aware, I only know about the government’s FiT Solar Power Scheme. What or who should I refer to if I want to DIY it myself? And how do I determine if insurance coverage for this, if there’s one?
Thank you.
