Planning to go for MBA in 2017, since I have got 2 years experiences in Industry (working as an engineer).
Would like to know is there any good part time MBA course recommended?
Prefer part time because I am not planning for full time study.
I am staying in Johor Bahru.

Since you're staying in JB, your best bet are universities with presence/offices in Singapore.

Check out Southampton University in JB, if they offer an MBA program there.

Notwithstanding logistics, the best part time available in Malaysia are the Nottingham and Strathclyde MBA.

Check out UTM as well .They have a good MBA program too .

I have friends who did their MBA there . I was impressed with it . I am not sure if its recognized in Singapore but in Malaysia yes .

These two MBA courses are expensive ( >100k RM), is it worth?
Actually I would like to know what is the value of MBA? Is it just a higher level ticket (just like degree) to have the opportunity to enter higher entry level?

Of course, I understand the Master/phd is useful only if the person himself has good performance in his job.
If someone is good and highly recommended by top management, does it make differences whether he had MBA from TOP Uni or local M'sia Uni?

I'm thinking about having MBA courses that recognized by most countries (not only M'sia).
Working in Singapore/China/Japan.... are also some good options for me.
No offense, but I did not see any future working in M'sia.

The value of MBA does not lie on the coursework.
ppl in School A vs Ivy/Oxbridge studies the same case study for management courses.
for Econ and Finance also pretty much the same content.
the value of MBA comes from interaction with your fellow classmates building a network, your Alumni!
if U fail to network in a Top Uni, your ROI will not be good.

Masters/Phd is not useful if a person has good performance in his job. how is that useful if you can be good with your job with just a Bach?

if u want to break into upper management, it depends on Alumni and networks.
if u married someone at VP/CEO family, it can gain entry to those places.

In ppl in upper management from avg Uni or from Top Uni?
in your daily work, do you get face time with upper management to justify you are indeed better than your manager and deserve the promo? off work do you party/golf/drink with ppl up there?
if a person is great and somehow you get upper management to recog your greatness, where U get your MBA don't matter. Issue here is how to get your upper management to promote you over your boss over the other person? If U performed well at work, manager claims he lead well and qualify for a promo over you. he lead well and upper management needs a leader. U having a MBA is a worker not a leader. You have not proven yourself to be a great leader but your boss did.
Would your boss, said to his upper management that you deserve all the credit and you should leap frog over him. or at least move to his level.. where is he suppose to go if place isn't opening up? put yourself in your others shoes would you do that? if U are the odd ball who would, will avg joe do that? U will understand your chances.

In top Uni, thru Alumni and networking with fellow classmates.. they know you and your potential. One they have work with U those Homework/project, two they grad from same uni and they understand what you can bring to the table at minimum even if you have only met them in Alumni dinners.

don't be confuse with recognition by the country edu system and recognized by the company and getting a job. They are 2 different things.
recognized by a country edu req is often low, most uni can meet the goal.
recognized enough to get a good paying job... not any uni can meet your goal

What you have said actually occurrs on me in real life.
I am in junior level and I am confident that I perform good and at least the top2 among all the staffs (junior& senior executive)
However it is just like what you said, the credits do not go to me. Every year i will get an annual increment 5~10%, but this is not what I want. Currently I am looking for other opportunities (target Singapore).
Unless you are directly report to the boss ( not the so called "boss" that get paid, no matter they are sr. manager, GM, ...)

I'm working in Singapore as an engineer currently while pursuing part time M.Eng in UM. High ROI plus can pursue MBA later
From what I feel, MBA is good for an engineer when he's mid rank as in mid 30's with strong technical knowledge.
Just to share, pursue degree/Master's recognized by MOM Singapore if you intend to work here or you'll be hard pressed

If you really insist on, I highly recommend Asia School of Business (ASB) which BNM collaborates with MIT. But comes with a hefty price tag of RM 260,000. With proper undergraduate qualification, NUS or NTU Business school might also be your choice

who are U to report directly to the board of directors? The CEO?
in a big company most ppl do not report to the Boss.
your immediate Boss is someone who evaluate U. you immediate superior is reporting to another guy, he may not even evaluate U!

the so call executive here are still workers.. not management executive. these ppl still report to a manager.
no manager like you to leap frog over them.
no top Bosses the C level executive wants all the workers to report to them, then whats the point of hiring middle management? don't have to do a MBA to understand that, and don't have to do a MBA to know that is NEVER going to happen.

if u date one of the board of director/the real BOSS, then you have special treatment otherwise stating that is just naive.

U worked 2 yrs, it does not matter how U evaluate yourself, it matters how other evaluate you. even if U do well U still a worker not management level.

back to MBA.. it cost more for a good real. U want a big $$ invest in one. U just want a paper.. so many ppl have such paper. these ppl are encounter such frustration.

if U that good, go Harvard MBA, iirc they do aware aid to those who cannot pay. but most ppl who got in have at least 5yrs of experience and know how to work the politics in the company. if U work and don't know how to play the game to climb.. Many top uni don't want u, reason U don't have the potential to be a Real Somebody.
