QUOTE(Najmods @ Jul 4 2008, 12:35 PM) This thread is dead again *sigh* my mod will start 2-4 weeks later, stay tune, just let this thread die first... Where are all the X-Fi user? Since no one want to talk, so back with the modding I tested a film polyester 10uF on coupling caps (the caps is freaking huge!, I got it from Yulong PCM58DAC EDIT: i'm so surprise yesterday when i soldered the output cable directly from opamp 1, 7 pin, the background noise was so huge....i can heard the mouse movement and HDD activity noise so clearly...i think the SMD cap and circuit after opamps done the noise elimination job... QUOTE(coolkwc @ Jul 4 2008, 12:42 PM) Rofl I measured DC offset, the same valued electrolytic gave 5mV while this film only gave mere 0.2-0.5mV EDIT: Hmm, I totally bypass the entire circuit after the coupling caps direct to RCA out. Clean as hell. Maybe that circuit is needed if you use opamp I guess I post some pic after Friday prayers This post has been edited by Najmods: Jul 4 2008, 12:48 PM |

After a few hours with the card, I must say I very impressed with the BG NX HQ capacitor.
The accuracy is excellent, imaging no longer blurry everything is spot on and instruments have its own separate layer clearly 'visible' even on bloated music. The bass is even better, if before my subwoofer is like out of tune with my speaker kicking out loose sounding bass, now it sings beautifully with it with powerful and precise boom. The vocal is a bit forward, makes an illusion that it sings right in front of me, the resonant quality (whatever that is called) is like it sings on live performance. This small capacitor really makes my head turn, best upgrade so far |

QUOTE(jie20022002 @ Jun 29 2008, 02:11 AM) New owner of Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 USB Soundcard reporting in! No longer an owner of Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 USB Soundcard so i'm reporting out! Performance is great when using IEM earphones in fact its incredible but when i connected it to my 5.1 speaker, i realized that i can only control both my front's speaker volume and no control whatsoever of subwoofer, center and surround. Apparently it's the driver's compatibility with nvidia that caused the problem and it's pretty widespread too when i checked at creative support forum. After days of trying to fix it, gave up and finally sent the soundcard back to the shop.Jeez I never realised there's such a big difference in performance btw crappy laptop soundcard and a real one o.O. Glad i decided to invest in this thing lol. |

QUOTE(hr_elie @ Jul 9 2008, 12:53 AM) hi guys, new guy reporting in.... You can get it from Farnell or RS Malaysia. Panasonic FM is a good replacement, but if you have money, Sanyo OS-CON is a better choice proud owner of X-Fi Fatal1ty Gamer... wanna ask all otai, where can i get good caps to modd my new baby..? |
