Depends on what kind of cap you're getting
Since i saw you put "minimum", my cost is about RM25++ (self-served), including the most expensive opamp which costs RM10++ CAPs Panasonic FM 1000uF/16V - 3 68uF/35V - 2 33uF/35V - 7 Opamp National LM4562MA Gonna import some 470uF soon to replace those small value caps. Diff in SQ ? Even a deaf person could tell the difference ! This post has been edited by UNDERGROUND: Jun 6 2008, 12:42 AM |

QUOTE(campsol2k @ Jun 6 2008, 01:59 AM) Where can i get this type of opamp - National LM4562? Is it the best DAC? You can ask XTREME for more details about the modding service, or if you merely need the opamp only, you can find siewsphone Is it important/necessary to replace the caps after replacing DAC? |

QUOTE(campsol2k @ Jun 7 2008, 07:06 PM) Nope, depends on your personal taste actually.4562 - warm / more details 49720 - warmer / coloured / blue-ish ? RM20 by SIEWSPHONE i guess, or if you get 4 opamps together maybe he will give you a cheaper price This post has been edited by UNDERGROUND: Jun 7 2008, 09:20 PM |

There are uncountable holes in my wallet, i can't fork out RM30 or 40 just for a opamp. Have to wait for another few weeks i guess.

QUOTE(Najmods @ Jun 10 2008, 12:47 PM) Yeah, very funny when we think about it You're hooking a 5.1 setup to your XFi ?Anyway, lets talk about something other than modding. I played all the games that supporting EAX Advance HD like F.E.A.R, Quake4, Doom3 and I just Anyway, what's new in the new beta driver? I don't think I need to change, the driver I use now is doing fine |

Do you plan to modify it ? At least swap the caps if you don wanna risk changing the opamp, which is quite risky i reckon with normal solder gun

If you planned to modify it, then it doesn't matter which one you're buying

QUOTE(nismo91 @ May 10 2009, 11:41 PM) hmm, what u mean by modify? hack the drivers using like daniel k one or mod all the caps inside the board? Swapping cap and opamp probably the furthest i can do is tricking the drivers... not so skillful in changing caps... if like that, then maybe should i go for the cheapest? xtreme audio XTREME will do it for you, well, if you don't like risking your new XFi then forget about it, after months of usage maybe you can consider it, it's a worthwhile effort you're not going to believe. If you don't mind the budget, you can get the more expensive one, the DAC is better i guess... |
