I think Creative software developer really awake now since their big slapped by thousand users year ago...keep releasing new and updated softwares/drivers since there...
For those who want to use X-Fi in beta Windows 7, the driver was released. I don't know about the quality, but at least Creative try and error.. This post has been edited by coolkwc: Feb 15 2009, 02:43 PM |

QUOTE(sucka3 @ Mar 2 2009, 11:49 PM) undoubtedly X-Fi Elite-Pro. But if i have the 1K+ budget for ElitePro, i definitely won't go for ElitePro, since many sound cards better than ElitePro in that price. This post has been edited by coolkwc: Mar 3 2009, 12:28 AM |

QUOTE(zhengyang89 @ Mar 3 2009, 06:56 PM) Check this list...To be honest, i used it before, and i don't feel as best as described by Nismo91, they also deploy the method such as frequency cutting and inverting (this is the only way to remove vocal), but just my opinion, maybe my expectation for that is too high. QUOTE(GuyzNexDoor @ Mar 12 2009, 02:27 PM) Mind to name a few?? I'm thinking of trying auzentech, but based on wikipedia, auzentech oso using creative tech. So, wanna know which soundcard is better than x-fi elite. there is nothing wrong with the X-Fi chipset, it has a excellent SRC, EAX5.0 hardware accelerated...the only downside is Creative using the low quality capacitor and opamp in their analogue circuit...so Auzentech is just the solution for Creative downside.thanks |

QUOTE(presto86 @ Apr 2 2009, 01:54 AM) I bought my X-Fi Titanium Fatality Pro PCIe from Singapore. Using it with Aego M at the moment. i like the entertainment mode, but dislike the game mode.... simply because the game no need any kind of hardware acceleration...only few games support EAX, thats why. Alchemy work with none of the games. Kinda dissapointed though. This post has been edited by coolkwc: Apr 5 2009, 12:21 AM |

QUOTE(atah @ Apr 24 2009, 09:16 AM) thanks. between 1 and 2, which one is better? I think you can't get new Audiotrak for less than RM200. maybe you can find the 2nd hand one...otherwise PCI Express X-Fi Titanium OEM (new, RM200) is a good choice.Added on April 24, 2009, 9:17 am any recommendations for budget less than rm200? |

QUOTE(Najmods @ Aug 2 2009, 09:19 PM) Alright2 Oic, then I waiting for your 'modded impression'... Stock impression: Bass is very powerful, but a bit loose and lacking a bit of punch, its seems 'out of tune' with music. Vocal comes out very smooth, pleasantly nice, but background detail smear and muddy, some detail can't even been heard or its very distant. High detail is lost, sounds like it don't have much treble at all and feel distant. All in all, it excel in vocal, not really bright and pleasant to the ear, but it feels slighty empty with not much detail. I think I know why it called analytical this CS4398, because it presentation is a bit dry and lacks character I heard from older DAC |

Finally they try to catch up with those audiophile level sound card, i think the bad comments on net got some sort of effect on their decision, not bad, i have to say. Hope they will dumb those crappy caps used in previous card.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The 3.5mm SPDIF output from X-Fi card only support uncompressed 2channel PCM, if wan 5.1 channel DTS/DD, the things u could do is to use the media player that support SPDIF output, the player will just send those compress 5.1 sound out from the card and decoded by ur receiver, and ur card do nothing to determine the SQ of the surround, it all depends on ur receiver. I prefer k-lite codec WMP with AC3 filter. |
