proud owner of Creative X-Fi Titanium at RM325 ...

i can't hear much difference except,

- sounds that were not there before now there is, especially in music.
- highly configurable compared to onboard Realtek.
- gaming is a sensation.
- watching movies, if you actually set the rear L/R loud enough, you feel you are like in the movies but your sound perception might be distorted a bit as the surrounds are supposed to be ambient sounds.
oh.. my set... running 7.2 system

Logitech 5.1
Center, Front L/R, Side L/R, Bass

Eacan 2.1
Back L/R, Bass

it took me a considerably HELL amount of time to calibrate those two different set of speakers to balance so one is not louder than the other. but i did set the rear L/R a little tad higher, gives you REAL scare when watching horror movies, especially with girls... hehehe...

I wouldn't mix two sets of speakers because the volume and quality is different. Most movies maxed out at 5.1 channels so I don't see any point using 7.1 since the side channels are emulated from rear.

Both have the same component, the only thing thta Fatal1ty have is 64MB X-RAM which not much games uses it. Both are good, depends on you whether you need the extra 64MB X-RAM Fatal1ty have

Why buy older cards when there is X-Fi? It has been discussed before why you want to avoid Audigy series. Dolby and THX don't do nothing in music, unless the software itself can benefits from it, which is usually movies and games.

Where did you 'heard' it? What 'old chip' it uses? Both have the same DSP, same component apart from the X-RAM I mentioned

hey guys thank god i found this thread, im just wondering which x-fi model would suit me best in terms of value of money?since i don't really play games so EAX features pretty much redundant, isnt it?

astounding improvement in music playback is the main concern here. anybody can recommend??

i read some reviews saying there is a cracking sound when using the x-fi.anybody care to share their experience with that?

Monster cable didn't do much difference for speaker like C3 unless you're using expensive HiFi. C3 easily can reach it full potential by using onboard SC with proper placement of the subwoofer and eq tuning. Or you can buy a consumer grade sound card like Creative X-Fi, Asus, Audiotrak etc..

Guys, planning to buy a Creative X-Fi series soundcard to improve the sound from my C3. Can recommend best card for the job? Mostly for music, a few movies, no gaming.
