Hi, I'm choosing between C25 and SZ43 now.
seem like SZ43's spec is hanging halfway if compared to SZ48 aspecially on different LCD screen technology (slimmer)....

First of all, there is RM2,000.00 difference between those 2 series...SZ43 specs also not that good as compare to SZ48's C2D 2.0GHz, L2 cache = 4MB advanced smart cache, 160G HDD, 1.69kg. Others like RAM, GC, OS all the same only...
Tell u wat...I been thinking of getting SZ48 as well..but it's really out of my budget... Then i turn down my target to SZ44 (slightly better specs than SZ43)
Hopefully i can get it by this month...

Can VAIO if bundled with Vista Business, can change to XP Pro? Thanks.

C25 is 4988, SZ43 is 5988, SZ44 is 6988 and finally ultimate SZ48 is 7988.

Sony really know how to lure ppl to get better and better spec laptop due to these alang alang gaps of price and spec...

Just want to confirm again, SZ4* are using 1 slot 1GB RAM and 1 slot empty?

If it's same as C25 which using 2 slots 512MB RAM, then it'll be headache to get upgrade....

Still planning to look for more choices beside VAIO...

first of all, what driver you going to install? is that vaio utilities?

and i suggest you try lurking eu club vaio forum. even the series number is a lil. bit difference, but it still the same specification. only a minor changes (hdd, ram etc)

Btw, i couldn't find the official sony CLUB VAIO site, here's the old link (Not useable anymore) which last time SONY send me 2changes my password/other details: http://vaio-online.sony.com/my. So, anybody know where it went? Didn't check it for few years already dunno what happen also

2. I notices in order 2register for MY Sony Member, it require user 2enter product model (In this case, i put VAIO notebook). However, my notebook is not in the list of VAIO model. So, how do i solve this?

but i wish to know that for C25 model (1.66Ghz) iz sufficient enough?

i get my vaio is unexpected though. it was a gift.. i wish it is a toshiba or hp lol.

on the other side note, sony is giving away it's c-series again.
check out the new competition to design the vaio c-series notebook.

Err.... why are you looking for your nvidia drivers? Is it due to your vista upgrade. Me old fashion ... refuse to upgrade yet. XP Pro is good enough for all my apps.

one is vista and the other is a dual boot vista and xp :]

Why malaysia don't have the N series VAIO?

just wanna share some tips on getting difference series of vaio notebook driver.

when you click on the driver software (on the first page) with proceed button(if im not mistake), go to your Windows folder first, C:\Windows , look for this file: Model.txt.

Simply change the model number (if yours is VGN-FE38GP) it will stated there. just change that number of your own there with the driver's series number. after that save. and go back to your installation window, proceed the installation as usual.

lol, somehow i cant imagine sony did this for driver validation..

maybe because of demand and price tag for it. just for example, the 007 tx series which not available in malaysia. besides, in malaysia, not many people used vaio rather than people in us, europe, japan.

currently, i can see they (sony malaysia/sony corp.) trying their best to promote the "affordable" c-series value among the teenager through contests, just to give people first glance about vaio and it's so called design.

just my opinion only la lol.
