Hi guys.

Need advice/suggestions.

Let say, I have a web application for interact with an online sql database.. Max users at a time < 4. Need a custom domain for it too.

Where should I host the application?

What about microsoft Azure? It is pay-per-use? Has anyone use it before?

Its all depends on where your user are. If they are at Malaysia, I would suggest you use local VPC provider, faster response time. The price is not much different.

Windows azure quite pricy
VM price not equal to process price.
If just simple you may get like mesra hosting or other like https://lowendbox.com/
or if you had extra budget .. go to exabyte cloud if asp.net .. ain't cheap.

Azure is good option. But if you use their SQL server, then you may need to calculate the pricing first. You need to estimate the fee that you need to spend. As I know if you use SQL server, then it is quite expensive. I would recommend you to use traditional shared hosting that support SQL server. Most of windows shared hosting provider comes with SQL server. FYI, you can try asphostportal.com. I have good experience using their hosting services.
