QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jan 2 2017, 04:48 PM) Latest update for you guys; so safe to say can get ps4 pro easily after CNY.There's currently 180 on the waiting list at KLCC Sony. I spoke to one of the product managers there (an old acquaintance) and he told me that they're expecting bigger restocks before or after CNY. It will be a long while before msia gets equal shipment in PS4 slims (and all its SKUs) and PS4 pros however. Dayummm |

QUOTE(NixiN-7hieN @ Jan 5 2017, 11:38 AM) I'm ok with paying for the Pro as well and it's noticeable to me how fps will affect gameplay. But I think my fears was realized just a week or two before the launch (and after deposit), that games that are not patched will play the same as before when Mark Cerny told reporters that the system will turn off half of the system if the games were not patched to take advantage of the extra hardware. So it was not like a PC with more GPU or CPU where more specs meant better performance, it still required developers to patch games to use them. So in summary, it's better to get PS4 slim?So having a PS4 earlier, I had hoped games like Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 and The Witcher 3 would run better with better specs but because of how the system works. They will never be patched and they will play the same on the old PS4s. And because Pro support is optional and not mandatory, many developers choose not to support games that have already been released except for a few of the bigger companies because they have the manpower like Square Enix. Even then like how I mentioned above, their improvements are not always clear. One could just be higher resolution UI like Overwatch and nothing else was improved or it could be wide sweeping options like Rise of the Tomb Raider where you get to choose from higher resolution, higher fps or mix of both. But coming from PC background, I wished that Sony mandated every developer to give options like these instead of weird crap like The Last Guardian needing to set your PS4 resolution to 1080P to get the best frame rate. Now I'm not saying that these issues won't be improved as developers get feedback and adjust. But for now, unless you had a 4K TV that works with the PS4 Pro, with 10bit HDR support AND had a GAME MODE that reduces latency, to get the "best" performance is just a hassle and I find it super disappointing that 1080p has more or less similar experience to before unless developers choose to update the game and you don't have a choice to choose the "improvements" that you want. Again, like I mentioned before. I was burnt many times. And maybe if I had it in my hands I wouldn't make as much noise. But having the free time, since I can't game. Going though all the games that have gotten updates late last year felt minimal or some do it downright atrociously (see: The Last of Us Remastered and Battlefield 1) where the developers can't decide on giving better graphics at the cost of frame rate or frame rate with slightly better graphics due to Sony's dumb arbitrary PS4 Pro improvements list. i thought if buy PS4 Pro with all the improved specs will definitely improve ALL PS4 games old and new in terms of FPS and stuff? i've been waiting for almost 3 years now to get my hands on a PS4. I want to get the best from my purchase obviously. Right now i'm still playing my 5 year old PS3 slim(9 years if counting from my old YLOD PS3 phat) PS3. Almost all PS3 games i have played, well almost all. Now i just spend infinite times playing battlefield 3 online while waiting for the right moment to get a PS4. Looks like i will need to spend another gazillion hours into BF3 again until Sony made it right with the PS4 pro. |

i went to check with Sony Center Alor star at Aman central yesterday.
damn PS Pro 4 also out of stock. the sony guy said they are also waiting stock from Sony HQ in KL. If in KL no stock means, same goes for other states as well. then he said the pricing for PS4 Pro might be changed due to currency so perhaps it might be as close as RM2000 later on. the new stock might arrive around CNY or maybe later in february. what a bummer! QUOTE(szb @ Jan 13 2017, 02:30 PM) 2 Dec sony alor star guy said if before CNY cannot get stock, then maybe February. *touch wood*yes Jan, but they told me next batch will be arrived before CNY, but very likely not enough until my turn, so I still need to wait for next next batch after CNY... because they focus to deliver around KL & klang valley first then only to other states. |

Just finally picked up my ps4 pro at sony aman central aloq staq.
Finally after almost 3 weeks of waiting. Lucky i put rm200 as deposit first. Cost rm1,999 in total but i dont mind paying extra for as long as i can ber gong xi fa cai playing ps4 pro hehehe. The sony guy said many wanted to buy my unit but i already secured it with deposit. So tough luck to others. He only brought in 1 ps4 pro unit from Sony HQ just for me though. Also he said next ps4 pro stock would come in around april. So next buyers pls wait ya? And price might be rm1799 or maybe more a bit depend on currency situation. But he brought in many units of ps4 slim 500gb and 1tb, including the white glacier one. Bought battlefield 1. Was hoping to buy MGS5 but oh well. I have been playing BF3 on my ps3 for almost 6 months. Now will play yet another battlefield game LOL! So guys just a quick question: how much does the initial ps4 update will cost? 1gb or 10gb? I am on digi 4g LTE so i might afraid not enough data. This post has been edited by Zaryl: Jan 21 2017, 08:55 PM |

Seems if you can't find the shop where you bought the PS4 Pro in the list for the online warranty registration, Sony Playstation Asia will help you to do it.
They will ask the following: 1. PSN ID 2. Snapshot of the 15 digit serial number located at the console 3. Snapshot of the official receipt of Sony store you bought Settle in 1-2 days. Good job Sony Playstation Asia! Sony > ALL |

Just made me wonder on the Boost Mode in the upcoming 4.50 update :
will using Boost Mode for PS4 Pro will make it runs harder and eventually making its like reduced to half? Not to say PS4 Pro is not capable with its more powerful spec and all, but still, running at full load with 200% effort sounds like it's struggling right? |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Feb 8 2017, 04:06 PM) To answer your question very simply; NO, it won't shorten the lifespan of the PS4 Pro. Thank you very much for the insight. If you want to hear out a theory, keep reading. Previously before "boost mode", the PS4 Pro will run at the exact same clock speeds as the OG PS4, both on the CPU and GPU side. According to Cerny, he said this is to ensure 100% compatibility for older titles that do not have a "Pro patch". It's not quite clear yet what "boost mode" does on the PS4 Pro, technically speaking. The OG PS4 has 18CUs (20 on die, but 2 disabled) and the Pro has 36CUs. However the Pro also runs the GPU clock at 911mhz vs 800mhz on the OG PS4. Until we get an internal look on the die of the Pro, it's only speculated that the Pro's GPU is a variant of a RX480, custom made for Sony by AMD. That means it is not the same chip as the OG PS4's GPU, which was based on the HD7850. There are no differences in architecture on the CPU side other that a clock speed increase. So it's 1.6ghz vs 2.1ghz, logically speaking it makes sense that "boost mode" is allowing the Pro to run its CPU at 2.1ghz instead of being locked to 1.6ghz. So with that said, it logically sounds plausible that the "boost mode" removes the lock on clock speeds on the Pro when a game without a "pro patch" is playing. To further answer your question then, the Pro's cooling capabilities are built around the Pro's specifications. So unlocking the speeds simply just lets the Pro run itself as it should. If a PS4 Pro has no issue exploding when playing a "pro-patched" game, then it will have no issues (hardware wise) when playing games without a pro-patch. AND, finally - before ANYONE brings it up to cause confusion: Boost Mode DOES NOT, I repeat; DOES NOT make games with a "pro patch" run better or faster, at ALL. |

QUOTE(Infinity88 @ Feb 11 2017, 12:22 PM) Just gotten the Pro from a Sony Centre for 1799 Congrats on your Pro purchase dude! Enjoy! Location is at Miri, Sarawak btw. I asked the sales person there whether the restocking is the whole Malaysia or not. Apparently, he said yes. So those sourcing for a Pro better try your luck at a Sony Centre near you But wondering why ONLY 2 units at your sony center though? Same like mine when i bought at sony center aman central aloq staq, they bring only 1 unit. Must be the units bring in to malaysia is very limited? |

Another question:
If you guys buy the full digital game worth 35GB or more, if you are on unifi, HOW LONG DID YOU TAKE to finish downloading the game to your ps4? 1 day? 2 days? Etc? I am on digi BB100 which has max 50GB quota per month, but i think i will quickly finish my quota if download a full digital game. However, playing multiplayer online on a digi 4G LTE is quite a smooth experience; no lag nonewhatsoever even playing on a 64 multiplayer game in Battlefield 1. But when it comes to download big files such buying digital games, i have to think twice. |

QUOTE(Lord Red @ Feb 13 2017, 03:23 PM) If your ofis got ethernet connection and very fast unlimited speed, just bring it to your ofis for a day or two. Set your PS4 to download a few games before bringing it to your ofis. Plug in the ethernet cable and switch on. The PS4 should download automatically in the background. If you don't want to disturb bandwidth during the day, just leave it overnight at the ofis. Switch it on just before you go back and should be finished downloading by the time you come back to work the next day. that is a very good idea but unfortunately i fear my ps4 pro will be stolen or lost if put overnight at office hahaha!maybe i just topup my digi bit by bit to successfully download 1 full digital game. |
