One of my reason to get the PRO is actually for VR and it's a big improvement in terms of graphics. The shadow and contrast is better, the in-game texts are more readable and edges are smoother. Tried it with VR worlds, RE7 Beginning Hour and Summer Lesson and everything looked better visually  smile.gif Plus the load times are faster.

Already professionally calibrated my TV to proper REC2020 standards. Bad HDR implementation is bad HDR implementation, there's no 2 ways about it. Fortunately, majority of HDR-enabled games so far are pretty decent.

PS4 Pro's SRP may be revised in Jan/Feb 2017 btw. So for those who eagerly want to get it at 1799, better safe than sorry to pay full deposit as a pre-order in Sony's PAD stores.

Does it effect for those pre-orders that have been made from previous months and not fulfilled yet? I expect the worst coz sony bolehland doesn't care those pre orders anyway.
*
Sony will honor the price provided you paid in FULL, up front for the pre-order of the PS4 Pros.

any recommendation on wireless headset for PS4?
*
Wait for the Platinum headsets. I've heard it for a bit now, pretty decent headset. Build quality is unfortunately still shit for a RM700+ headset but otherwise.. yeah, you want wireless, that's how it is.

will the flake like the current wireless ones? same material?
*
Not exactly the same material. But it's still pleather, mixed with some kind of cheap membrane. I expect it to tear and flake over time. That said, they're quite comfy though, similar to that of the MDR-100a headphone earcups. The difference is that it's thicker and plushier on the Platinum headset.

my DS4 d-pad is faulty (right button), anybody have experience fixing DS4 d-pads before?
*
Possibly faulty contact point between the membrane and the electrical film on the DS4. First step is to open up and clean the contact point.

How do I get HDR output to my tv if I already have a PS4 vr connected from vr to tv cause based on https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/get-help/...how-to-get-hdr/
the PS4 pro needs to connect to tv directly for HDR output.
*
Get a receiver with 2 HDMI outputs, compliant with HDCP 2.2 and have HDMI 2.0a inputs.

What I'm doing is;

PS4 Pro > HDMI In > AVR > HDMI Out 1 > TV, HDMI Out 2 > PSVR box.

All I have to do is switch between the HDMI outputs depending on what I'm playing at any given time. Easy peasy.
I get HDR on HDMI Out 1 obviously and SDR with HDMI Out 2.

a quick question if i use ps4 pro on a 1080p tv will i still get 4k display down scaled to 1080p ? or it just runs ps4 base mode
*
Depending on the game. There are 4 out of the 53 "Pro-enabled" games now that has zero downscaling/supersampling and zero enhancements when the Pro is connected to a 1080p TV.

I don't expect the list to grow too much, but it's Sony and the rule really only states that games on the Pro "must at least equal the performance on the base PS4" for the same game. There's no enforcement either.

thanks for the reply boss, i fear when ps4 pro detect my tv max resolution it will revert to base ps4 performance and graphics quality. hoping to see eye candy even om 1080p  hmm.gif
*
Again, depending on the game. There are quite a few games where the 1080p "enhancements" are only subtle at best. Difference isn't that big.

Example? Uncharted 4 practically looks the same just with less shimmering and aliasing, of which aren't even eliminated.
Then we have games like The Last Guardian where playing it on the Pro where it is only possible to achieve a lock 30fps, but at 1080p.

Exceptional looking games like Ratchet and Clank at 1080p which looks insanely clean (better than at "4k mode" IMO) are unfortunately, only a handful.

Here's hoping the shit-list of games that don't take advantage of the Pro don't grow too much in 2017.

Hey Bro! Care to share what receiver you are using? Is a splitter enough to perform this setup? If you can post a picture, I would appreciate it a lot!
*
Receiver in my sig - Yamaha RX-A2050
A splitter will not work, no. A switcher however, may work but aHDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 compliant one is not cheap currently.

Sorry no pic, not at home currently.

Great! I actually saw an HDMI switch which says 4k however, i'm not sure if it's HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 compliant which could compromise the HDR capabilities of the TV. Will check for other switches. A receiver such as yours could be way over the budget biggrin.gif Thanks!
*
4k can be achieved with HDMI 1.3b, doesn't even need to be 2.0. A lot of these products are technically advertising correctly, it does support 4k. But you have to look at the fine print properly and see if it actually supports 4k at 30hz, 4k at 60hz, 4k through 4:4:4 at 8-bit minimum or not.

Not just because a product says "4k ready" means that it really does 4k properly. Same thing with HDR. Just because a TV says "HDR ready" does not mean it conforms to actual HDR standards. Don't be a blind consumer is all I'm saying. Good luck in your search. smile.gif

Side track abit. The thing is now get complicated, TV become more and more like a PC in layman perspective. Sometimes I feel like marketing ruin it. You really have to read the "small" fine print or the spec sheet. Elder people like my dad, I doubt he know how to buy a good 4k tv  sweat.gif
*
This is always the case during the "transistion period" of every major leap in technology. There will come a time where mainstream-priced TVs will be considered good, where people with little knowledge in this area can mostly buy "blindly" without being locked out of what they were advertised for.

It happened with 1080p TVs in 2013 and 2014. It happened with 720p TVs in 2009. It happend with 480p CRTs in 2000-2002. It will happen again for 4k TVs soon.

From a guesstimate, it seems like December batch is less than 100 units of Pro total for the entire country. All PADs only get 5-10 units each.

I know some merchants who gave preference to walk in orders rather than fulfilling lazada/gemfive's pre-order
*
Walk-in pre-order > online pre-order.

Most walk-ins also pay full in advance, so they are given priority. Quite hilarious how things are being handled considering we're in 2016, it's almost like back in the ;launch-PS2 days before every single reseller just took grey imports from unauthorized distros.

So keep your fingers crossed guys. Here's hoping things will be better in 2017.

Happy new year all.

Just wondering bro, since you have some contacts in the industry, do you know anything about what's up with Game Hypermart? I contacted them today. Apparently they are surprised other shops get stocks, they said they didn't hear anything from their supplier. It is really weird that literally every other shops get stock, albeit a little, but they didn't get one unit also... I am just wondering if I am wasting my time waiting for them. Are they in a dispute with Sony or something?  dry.gif
*
No idea who their "supplier" is. From what you say, seems to me that their supplier isn't even a PAD to begin with.

You know the saying: "if you don't have such a big head, don't wear such a big cap". Applies to GH here.

Latest update for you guys;

There's currently 180 on the waiting list at KLCC Sony. I spoke to one of the product managers there (an old acquaintance) and he told me that they're expecting bigger restocks before or after CNY.

It will be a long while before msia gets equal shipment in PS4 slims (and all its SKUs) and PS4 pros however.

No, no. Don't be mistaken, what they indicate is that there could be bigger shipment of stocks. It does not mean there will be surplus of stocks.

Keep the fingers crossed. smile.gif
