I realised that when I am on WIFI connection, the speedtest is slow while on LAN cable, the speedtest is fast at full speed of 50Mbps.

Package: Unifi 50Mbps

The router is just beside the notebook.

How to adjust the WIFI setting so to get full speed?

You can try setting Wifi bandwidth to 40MHz. Some devices may not be able to connect if they don't support this. Then set the N only. Your devices must support N wireless too. Try again.

If you're lucky, you might just get full speed. If you're using more than one devices, then no chance of getting full speed.

i dont think it is related to google DNS issue since it is fast when on LAN cable.

Can you connect your laptop to wireless and run speedtest result? Post it here for us.

Have you tested with just one laptop connected to it wirelessly? Try not to connect any device to it. Test the speed few times to see if it is stable or not.

Normally, by wireless you won't get any near 45mbps. Technically by wireless your speed should be around 35mbps. And technically wireless is slightly lagging than wired. Wireless signal can be interference by many factors such as moisture level in the air, glasses, concrete wall, etc.

However we need to have your speedtest result to see if it is normal or not.

hi
you may find your solution from this video..
Try seeking around 12 minute of this video regarding wireless channel being used
maybe this prbolem, there is a lot of wireless signal in your area.
as certain wireless signals use the same wireless channel
example, channel 6, they could be multiple wireless signal from your neighborliness using this channel 6
the video also explain how to change those wireless signal to another channel for better wireless internet connectivity

else, Unifi is problematic or someone else has access to your wireless

Early this year i changed my friends stock TIME router to a cheap TP-Link one. cable is consistently around 90mbps while Wifi is consistently at 30mbps.

2 months back, i think someone here mentioned that Wifi adapter and or b/g/n/ac will have different peak speed readings.

Also there was mention of speed balancing by router to distribute speed between users.

So the problem is very likely, none. But rather limitations & router settings.

Hello..

Currently i'm still using the same equipments that came with my 30mbps UNIFI plan, and I'm thinking of changing routers or anything else that might help with my WIFI connections since its currently abysmal compared to wired connections.

From here http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/what-you-need...-for-your-home/ I understand that I'd need a 802.11n router with a built in modem with data rates above 300mbps ish? Anything else i'm missing? I don't think I'll be needing a dual band router which from my understanding is only needed if I'm going to use that 5ghz channel or something trick? I don't think i'll need HD streaming since I don't have any laptops using the connection.

So am i missing anything else? Hows the installation? Just plug and play? Does this one tick all my needs http://www.lazada.com.my/tp-link-tl-wr841n...rt-9254744.html or any recomendations?
