the HR3 Treassure quest your referring is to
successfully hunt n kill rathalos.

you can break the giant rocks by repeatively hitting at it.
once u get out of that, u can blast away the rocks instantly
with 2 large barrel bombs.

tip. bring felvines.

Best way is to sell stuffs you don't need ler...

alternatively clear the elder quest, then talk to the
traveling merchant. Backpacker guide will showup
once u clear 5star quest.

What are u getting??? if your looking for white velociprey scales
or rathalos ruby, then u'll have to rank up.

Pale bones = Khezu, Hard/G-rank, G-rank has a higher drops

Rathalos Plate = Hard/ G-rank. req cut off tail.

Master Skull = HR3 or above
Forest n hills area 5 or
felvines camp near the barrels

That u have to have frens. . . or their guild cards

well sell can always sell the stuff u dunwan
until when u decide to get then head for the
trainning & collect the tickets again.

but i agree there are better weapons out there
besides expert. I just collect them for collection sake

u'll loose bcoz:
a. didn't deal enuff dmg to lao to repel him,
b. he manage to destroy the fort.

when he is at areaa 5 n banging at your fort,
u can check the fort integrity by accessing the quest info
on your menu.

i personally wouldn't recommend a GS against lao,
not that i'm against it but i find other weapons is much more suited
for the job, and u wouldn't get good duals until u reach g-rank
so no point asking u to farm for ancient stones.

Well, for starters u can try Corona or Blazing Falchion (sns)
and keep on pounding the belly/head your choice,
pack a few Lrg barrel bombs will help
break its horn.

as it reaches area 5 use the ballista along with the
dragonator. Lao will fall~

Armour wise, i'd say go for Rathalos Soul armour
which it will give you fast sharpening, high earplugs, detect
and spectre whim.

Advise: watch out for the tail.

When using sns, u can dish out inifinite combo
Normal Sns combo > triangle > triangle > triangle > circle
immediately after circle do a roll, then hit triangle again
and repeat the combo.

Almost all ancient Dragon in elder quest is consider a survive/repel/slay mission, bit like
garuga back in MHF, and yes the dmg carries over to the next round.
eventually it will die~

LOL yeah tachi is really fun to use. i myself hav converted from GS
it can slew down kutkus in less than 3mins. n devil slicer is real easy to make.
but unable to block is definately a big drawback. especially if u get cornered.

but ur right tachi is absolutely about knowning your wyverns, n how to avoid
getting dmged.

oona is rather easy if u hav ESP.

i love fighting ian with a tachi, very fun.
