QUOTE(erh_teo @ Aug 30 2007, 06:04 PM) Well, its different enough from a Gundam type model that I need to refer to the instructions more than I usually do. However its definetely easier to build compared to a transforming MS But anyways, the building of these models tends to be pretty easy in general lar.. Its the painting it and making it look good that's the challenge here. |

QUOTE(clivengu @ Sep 14 2007, 11:57 PM) Results are very satisfying... but Tamiya colours are very weak and easily scratch off..( but i like the matte effect) so.. i spray everything and protect it with Mr hobby topcoat- matte Frosting is always a huge problem with matt finishing. But what I found out was that a 50/50 mix of My Hobby Matt + My Hobby Gloss top coats still gives a matt finishing, but cuts down drastically on the frosting effect. Need an AB to apply though.[attachmentid=295428] |

QUOTE(boltguard @ Sep 20 2007, 06:34 PM) well, yeah. Actually, I've been using Mr Surfacer with my airbrush all this time without any problems. Can u describe how u did it? Might be problems to do with the thickness of the primer in your airbrush that's causing the problems.primer first, then airbrush. after doing this, i learned something - never use surfacer with airbrush, looks like i'm better with just the white surfacer can spray, lol will post more pics soon when done ab with shoulder & leg armors |

QUOTE(boltguard @ Sep 20 2007, 07:53 PM) well, its like i filled 1/3 of the primer into the ab cap, then just spray it Yup, u guessed right. By itself, its too thick to be sprayed using an AB. I use hardware thinner to thin it down, on a 2 part thinner to 1 part primer ratio without using any retarders, and it works fine. U can adjust the ratios to suit your own need, but make sure its at least 1:1.then, as i spray, ''strings''-like thingy just stick on to the runner parts @_@, & i had a difficult time to take it off separately. maybe its just my first few tries using my ab. oo yea, must the primer be mixed with thinner first before ab? because i didnt mix it at all thx in advance for help |
