U r one in a thousands that prefer to use the VibeUI... Enjoy ur new born P1 Turbo... What happen to the P1 Turbo? Resell?
Haha, did not like it at first on the p780, but after s860, p70 and 2x P1, am kinda used to that already so it feels not right to not use it. Yup traded the p1 turbo for this. I notice the speaker is quite prone to distortion even at just 80 or 90%, especially on phone calls or certain tracks. Anyone having this problem?
Tested whatsapp call for a short 3 minsover 4g, was good and clear.
Alright, thanks for the confirmation. So, the old stock ROM is better than the current S048_161111_ROW. Then, don't update.
Finally, video recording quality, how's the audio quality? Most of our units have "tiny" sounds due to NOISE CANCELLING MIC suppressed the incoming sound from main mic.

How about audio recording?
I tested with a short clip of my tablet playing some tunes, apart from sounding not so loud, overall audio quality was ok (could be my speaker volume too as i mentioned, i notice some distortion so dint go all the way up, maybe like 70%)

Using the stock camera app. Okay just did another test in my car, now i can confirm that your finding is true as the audio sounds tiny and thin despite my car stereo filling up the whole cabin. Whatsapp call quality remained good though. Anyone facing the speaker distortion as mine? Probably need some break in for the speaker till it settles down.

Thanks for the confirmation. So, any stock ROM will have tiny audio using stock camera to take videos. The NOISE CANCELLING MIC is "over-designed" intentionally...
My WhatsApp call also no issue...
My unit doesn't have the speaker distortion. Perhaps the bass overpowering the treble that makes the distortion. Try music with less bass to check any difference...
Me on latest S048 ROW ROM...

All stock ROMs will have tiny-thin audio quality for videos as demonstrated below...

It's made by Motorola which is known to put 3 mics for noise canceling (give clear voice during calls). The Moto Z also suffers from low audio recording probably caused by the same thing.

It happens even for ring tone and calls on loud speakers, arghh. Still dare not to turn volume to max

Lol if problem still persist might have to send for replacement, sad case. To my ears it is loud, but not very much louder than others, but can definitely feel the vibration at max volume lol
