QUOTE(greyPJ @ May 26 2007, 06:54 PM) i think the main purpose for ppl to get this is for video shooting, actually i'm quite interested too by looking at its ability to record an hour 640x480 30fps quality movie with 1GB SD, plus the size is so portable for u to bring along. btw, here is the its successor CG65's review (using better H.264 AAC video compression which is 25% smaller size as compare to CG6 with MPEG4 AVC) |

QUOTE(itanium @ May 26 2007, 10:18 PM) the RSP is rm1,799, the drawback is it records movie in MJPEG format, so only ~15min recording time with 2GB SD which seems to me it defeats the purpose as a camorder btw, sanyo's reviews are quite good: Xacti CG6 Xacti HD1a |

SDR-S10 doesnt have OIS?? i google no indication that it has OIS, if no OIS then its useless, the best video quality is crap if its shaky.btw, is Panasonic SDR-S10 in our market yet? i just realized that CG65 also doesnt have OIS, the video is very clear, but shaky, really not worth the price. tz1 is still the best value for money. QUOTE(sotong168 @ May 27 2007, 12:55 PM) plan to get CG65 for casual use, let me be the guinea pig i already dl all the samples by Caelum last nite when you posted the link to the reviews.CG65 Review#1 (with video clip samples) CG65 Review#2 (in chinese) seriously, OIS is a must-have feature in video, especially at x10 zoom, for still pic can still do without OIS, but not video. after i use lumix fx01 to take video, i really like the OIS, so big diff, no matter how i shake the camera, the video is very stable, unlike video without OIS, see this sample: Cat, indoor TV-SHQ it is shaking quite badly, make me dizzy, you dont get this kind of shake at all with OIS. plus the price is not cheap, rm1200, if it has OIS CG65 is perfect, x10zoom, stereo. |

actually it draws my attention with its small size, long recording hr, decent video quality and acceptable price (if compare with TX1). btw, it has digital stabilizer (of course can't compete with ois), here is the sample clips with stabilizer on frm its predecessor C6
just think of getting one so that i can bring it along, take out frm my pocket and start shooting for any happening... |

if you have super steady hands, and hold very steady with both hands while filming, it is ok, for me i dont like hold steady, and i like filming with 1 hand, free style.
tz1 is as big as cd65, same size, rm450 cheaper, has OIS, downside is only last 22 mins video and mono sound. |

QUOTE(greyPJ @ May 27 2007, 02:08 PM) you should try 4 gb card first with a620, someone said it worked: thks for the info, saw the thread b4 actually, the answer is not definite, that's why i avoid to take risk for any potential incompatibility issue, will rather get 2x2GB. yesterday went to hsl & courts, unfortunately they dun have the cg65, as quite bz this few days, will search around again when i'm free http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat...06&changemode=1 i also dislike size like canon A620, too big. canon A620 = 105 x 66 x 49 mm = 339,570cc. TZ1 = 112 x 58.1 x 40.2 mm = 261,589cc. CG65 = 68.0 x 100.0 x 35.0mm = 238,000cc. |

QUOTE(greyPJ @ May 28 2007, 04:01 PM) the feature is great, hope the its successor would use MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 for video compression. Panasonic & Sony AVCHD is using this format too.btw, casio new cameras EX-V7 & EX-Z1200 are also using h.264 video codec, both provides optical zooming during filming too. |

Panasonic & Sony AVCHD is using this format too. yes thats the problem, right now tz1 with .mov format 2gb can last only 22mins, it is quite short but enuf for me, i rarely shoot anything over 15mins, it would be great if pany release a new firmware that enable tz1 support sdhc.btw, casio new cameras EX-V7 & EX-Z1200 are also using h.264 video codec, both provides optical zooming during filming too. so far i find only cg65's h.264 format has the best video clarity, its as clear as TX1 HD, very impressive, EX-V7 h.264 not really that good, mpeg4 is just so-so, my tz1 .mov is clearer than mpeg4. |

Hi,
I just read about Sanyo producing underwater camera/videocamera....does anyone know how's the quality? And I think it's not yet available in Malaysia coz Sanyo Malaysia's website has no info about it. |
