Hello sir,
Am glad there are still people who like to collect thin comics like me. Thin comics is also known as single issues. Memories are made of them. Just remember to bag and board them up nicely. Give them the mylite or mylar treatment where possible.
Included some pics if you interested in reading good stories. Find them and read them if possible.

Hi Guys!
Glad could find an active comic thread out here in good ol LYN! actually i was hoping you guys could help me out, I was wondering if we could compile a list of the comic shops in Klang valley or even Malaysia. Wonder where u guys in penang buy ur comics from? Don't tell me everyone buys it from Ebay? anyway...i just started collecting comics about 2 years ago, and i have about 70% of the whole civil war colection..yes..im one of the suckers who enjoy collecting the thin comics(waddaya call em?)...seldom buy TPB or even HC..hahaha
Anyway, the shop i go to is Comics Corner in SS15. The malay guy there is kinda knowledgeable but they seem to always run out fo the good popular comics..serves me right for going there once a month..haha. Iwas hoping to source my comics from other shops..the one in mid valley seldom stock up the thin comics(gee, i really dunno wats it called) and they take a long time to order stuff. SO guys, hope u can help out a buddy here and provide some good reliable comics shop address!

Thanks! will try to list down my collection sometime soon!
maybe we can do some small gathering and compare comics or sumthin! haha..thisis so geek culture...but i love it

Nicely kept and bagged plus storage.

I got problem too in storage area... LOL.

There will always be people collecting single issue comics but the access to them nowadays is limited unlike the heydays of speculators in comics. Only few shops exist in Penang/KL/PJ.. etc.

The alternative is Graphic Novels / TPBKs that is a collected editions and also partly to blame is the Publishers for giving out freebies in HCs like additional pages/artworks/pin-ups/scripts a'la DVD.

Storage is starting to be a problem.
The only thing is to make a rack for those comic boxes. Anyone out there with storage problem also?

Dude, your storage rack rocks! Cool man
Wish can do it like yours which is quite an idea there

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. If you do get one please do make sure each rack is able to withstand at least 150kg. And is made of hi grade aluminium. If those compress wood type will start to give problem later on as the wood break down..

Anyway, does anybody out there have any Cgc collection?
Is there anymore of the Mcfarlane spider-man #1? The Cgc issues are the platinum issue and the Gold with barcode. Able to get them at 8.5 only.

Ahhh.. Age of Apocalypse where all X-Titles got suspended for 4 months.

Storyline
Legion (David Haller), an extremely powerful psionic mutant and son of Professor Charles Xavier and Israeli diplomat Gabrielle Haller, travels back in time with the intention of killing Magneto, Xavier's former best friend and current arch-nemesis. When David is on the verge of ending Magneto's life, Xavier places himself between the two, and Legion inadvertently kills Xavier instead. Due to a "Grandfather paradox", Legion then ceases to exist as Xavier now died before Legion was even fathered.

Because of Xavier's sacrifice, Magneto comes to believe in his late friend's dream of peaceful co-existence between humans and mutants. Apocalypse, an immortal mutant who has been alive for centuries, was monitoring the fight. In this reality, he chooses this moment as the perfect time to begin his "survival of the fittest" genetic war, which doesn't happen in the regular Marvel Universe until ten years later.

In this timeline, Magneto establishes the X-Men, but not until after Apocalypse establishes himself as a major power. Apocalypse comes to rule all of North America, and initiates a worldwide genocidal campaign of "cullings" in which millions of humans die. The few that survive live in parts of Europe and Africa which were not devastated by nuclear weapons. Fleets of Sentinels are their only defense.

Meanwhile, the disturbance of the timeline leads to a crystallization wave of the M'Kraan Crystal that is heading toward Earth.

Magneto, as leader of the X-Men, leads a resistance movement against Apocalypse's forces. Early in the timeline, his daughter the Scarlet Witch is killed by one of Apocalypse's henchmen, Nemesis (later Holocaust). Next issue, Weapon X (Wolverine) and Jean Grey leave the X-Men to follow their own separate path. The true beginning of the Age of Apocalypse, however, is in the magazine X-Men Alpha, which will be described below.

You can get the collections in TPBKs format :-

Age of Apocalypse Epic 1 ~ 4
Age of Apocalypse (limited series)

wow, nice to hear there are some AoA fans around...wink.gif

i was previously encouraged by eric.tangps to set up a garage sales thread since i was planning to let go of my comics, haven't been able to do so until last week (i don't always return home). you may find a couple of comics of mine which featured weapon x (or wolverine in the standard timeline).

if you want to know more about x-titles, i'd recommend www.uncannyxmen.net, it has a huge library of issue summaries, and you'll be able to locate almost every x-comic books available. you'll find out more on this version of weapon x there.

anyway, it's a pity that i did not purchase the AoA: weapon x titles back then, wasn't a fan of wolverine. i think it's a good read. what to do, i was and still not a fan of wolverine...smile.gif

a couple of years back marvel came up with the AoA 10th anniversary, which is quite a nice read as well, although not as great as the original AoA series.

@ghoster,

yep, that's the AoA version of cyclops alright, has always been my favourite x-character...smile.gif

too bad marvel doesn't want to run a story on the battle between weapon x and cykes which resulted in one losing an eye, the other losing the hand. i was pretty dismayed when cykes got killed off in x-men omega, but apparently he's still alive, or at least that's what hinted during the AoA 10th anniversary a few years back.

were you the one who smsed me last night? if yes, please expect a late reply on wed night, i don't always stay at home, hahahaha...wink.gif
